Bad AZZ Boxer on Ebay

Does anyone have any special information on this car? Service history? Valve explosions? With all the engine mods you'd think they'd go to Motec for EFI but they kept the K-Jet. I wonder how THAT is set up? The K-Jet weather vane doesn't seem to be the ideal air measurement device at, what, 17.5 psi boost?

 

Why do you think it has K Jet? I saw a Motec mounted in the interior.

K-JET and MSD. Where did you see the Motec mounted inside? Which pic?

 

The car does not have K-jet, it has EFI according to the pictures plus it would be like points ignition on an enzo.

I can just imagine reaching for the extingusher and having to untangle the belt first, lol.

 

I would love to buy this car but I would be scared witless from a maintenance and reliablility point. Especially as I am on the far side of the Atlantic!

How is it that the Boxer is supposed to have a "delicate" differential and this thing hasn't twisted it out of the car yet?

 

She has a TR box under the TR engine.

 

Dont you mean a 512M box? The TR's fail as well. Ive wondered about this too but if it has an aftermarket carrier with an upgraded TR box then i wouldnt worry.

I contacted them expressing interest and they didnt get back to me, emailed them my number and they have my email address. Now that I think about it if its such a great deal why hasnt it been snatched up? I thought about it, its a cool car but I think most boxer buyers will look at a boxer as an investement to a certian extent, this car is a bad investment period but a blast to drive, that will keep the price down.

Talked to this broker several times trying to get info on last service info etc. Will call back....never did.
This car while interesting was not worth the risk on grenading or of being previously flogged and with 800 HP I think it wasn't designed to be a grocery getter. As someone knowledgeable told me the one guy who had this car was looking for the one other guy who wanted it.

 

First, thanks to James at Norwood for filling in some of the blanks about the conversion and sepcification of this car. We have an extensive service history from Norwood, but it's not always easy to decipher the repair orders.

Second, yes it met reserve, and yes the high bidder is for real, but there is a trade involved, so don't change channels just yet!

Third, to those who haven't received return calls or e-mail, I apologize and am directly responsible for that. We have had an incredible amount of inquiries about this car, ranging from the serious buyer to the merely curious, and are doing our best to get back to everyone. We even had a bidder who retracted because we could not provide the original motor!

If the pending deal falls through, we probably won't re-list it on eBay, so those who are watching, keep tabs on it on the DriverSource website.
