Hi everybody, I had a problem with my speedometer (bad contact), I check the wires and I found the problem.... The multiconnector fitted near the left shock absorber is broken. Do you have the reference of this part ? I want to replace it..... regards Marc
Welome to F-Chat Marc Send Daniel an e-mail, he might be able to get one for you. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=2663 [email protected] How did your connection break? Was is from corrosion?
Hi, Marc; You should be aware that it is a fairly common problem for the electrical pulse sensor for the speedometer (the sending unit) to cause problems and need to be replaced. The sensor is part #116987, and the sealing ring for the sensor is part #10263460. If you have a definite problem with the twist connector by the shock tower, you have several options to fix it: 1) You can replace the wiring section with a new "engine utilities" harness, which I believe is part #151912 (on the engine side). The chassis side is the main rear harness. 2) You can "hard wire" the connection between the two harnesses, or install plug connectors for each individual wire. 3) You can install a 9-pin "block" connector, like you can get at Radio Shack, in place of the twist connector and hide it out of sight. 4) You can try to find a new generic 9-pin twist connector that fits through a 13/16" hole, and rewire it to fit the new pins. I'm not an electronics expert, but I would think these would be available from supply stores. 5) You can try to find a used Ferrari connector and rewire it into the existing harness. Like Pap, I'm curious to know how it got broken? Hope you're enjoying your car!
Hi all, thank you for your help....specially Jeff......it was great ! I can confirm the connector is broken (the ring to secure the connection). It shloud be nice to replace by original parts, by......very expensive I check and keep you informed. Marc
Ah, ok. There you go. Was it corroded? Glad the Brotherhood was able to help you out Marc. Let us know how you go chasing parts.
Do not know what you pay in the US, but I changed that sensor last summer and it costed (only) 100 USD. //B//
