Had the worst experience. I'm sure it's not the worst ever, but their customer service sucks!! The girl there is so rude and condescending. I ordered an F1 team shirt and since I just moved state I haven't changed my billing address yet. Buried somewhere in their ts&cs they say it has to go to the billing address. So they tried shipping to my home in Tejas but since no one is there it got shipped back. Also buried in the ts&cs is a nice 20% restocking fee, which I told the girl is a bit ridiculous (for a stupid shirt?!?!? sheesh, so heavy to put back on the shelf!!!!). Whatever.
Meanwhile while waiting for it to be shipped back to them I'd bought it from hmsmotorsport.com and while they have the same billing address policy, at least there's a pop-up that tells you so so you don't have to go digging through the fine print. Needless to say, they're focused on customer service and it was nothing but excellent when I called in.

This policy is in place to protect you from identity theft. I've seen many websites that only ship to the billing address on the credit card--it is pretty much common practice these days. They should have waived the restocking fee had you decided to keep the shirt, but apparantly you didn't and obtained it elsewhere.

Yup. I had $400 in ladies clothes bought from some on-line company and shippied to an apartment in Illinois. American Express said it is not uncommon, they get an apartment for a month and ship all manner of stuff there, then by the time the charges are questioned they are gone. The scariest part was that they had my name (they changed a single letter) card number, address, and cell phone number (also changed one digit). If the company had only shipped to billing address, it never would have worked.

I actually think it's a great policy! However not many of us dig through the ts&cs when making such a tiny purchase. Something like that should have been made very blatantly obvious like hmsmotorsport.com did. I didn't get a follow up email with a tracking no. or anything. When my shirt didnt turn up a couple weeks later I had to call to find out and that's when I encountered the rude girl for the first time. My second time was when I called to get my money back when she told me about the20% restocking fee. I said take it, even though 20% is a little ridiculous, to which she retorted "IT'S NOT RIDICULOUS". I just kept my calm throughout as I usually do and am now waiting for my penny back.
