Looks like someone is already doing what you want to do and documenting it on YouTube. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQF_oOpEBOI[/ame]
Dude that's so 4 years ago. Every detail documented on this very forum. Legendary build thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/288gto-f40-f50-enzo-laferrari-sponsored-bradan/396915-f40-lm-restoration.html
Yes, spoke to him last week, still going like hell everywhere all the time. He lives our motto, "go like hell till you can't"! Instructing at Vegas and AMG Roebling Road.
Why not try to contact coys auctions and see where that yellow race f40 is? Or try to contact with a couple of brokers in europe, switzerland and japan. I would start with DK Engineering and maybe the common f40 mechanics in UK at least and ask for one like that. One car that might be very worthy of getting is the motoring f40 that was used on comparassions, pretty good spec, early car, nice history, might be a bit shagged by now. Try to get your kid involved in the search process too, to me the search, research and the travelling is still one of the most fun parts. In japan, I know crocoauto (search on insta) that import pretty weird variety of cars from formula cars to alfas, so they have to know collectors around. L'operaio is another luxury car deal in tokyo, idk more, try croco, I have a hunch that they will be able to find you a couple of cars.
And keep on eye on these, autoscout24.com autoscout24.ch mobile.de (remove the DE filter when you search and the other one) pistonheads.co.uk
Did you see the one being sold in Japan that was raced? I thought I saw where the estimates where in the 600k range? I was wondering about that. https://bringatrailer.com/2018/11/30/street-registered-ex-jgtc-racer-1988-ferrari-f40/
Image Unavailable, Please Login Julie has one we have not driven in a year or so. And I think it is bad, if bad is good. What is the floor on these now? Around a Mil?
Didn't followed, but from vague memory I think it was sold for more than 2 Million euros. Taisan cars are legit f40 racing cars. Motortechnike in the uk should know of some rough f40s as they deal with chassis rebuilds and I think they might actually have a crashed one on the shop. Try giving them a call who knows, the owner might let it go.
Bad. But need to dig deeeep for this one: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/pa19/paris/lots/r0085-1987-ferrari-f40-lm/740406 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Jesus. What's a kidney fetch these days? Mine's 23 years old and slightly damaged due to binge drinking, but $100k? Put it on roulette and pray it hits for $3.6M haha. OP, good look on the hunt, will keep my ear on the ground for an F40. I wish my dad was into cars like you!
these guys had a customers f40 in the shop about a year ago. Said it had major issues or had been very neglected. But was there a year ago might be worth a call or they might have leads for you. think the main guys name was Vince http://blackhorsemotorwerks.com/
