I suggest you look into grief counselling. There is a great deal to process, especially with sudden death (i.e., not a long illness). They say that with sudden death, it's important to view the body to help get over the denial part.

Recommended reading--if your open to things other than the standard book in these here parts (the Bible): "Journey of Souls" and "Embraced by the Light."

Last weekend I attended the funeral service of my Ex. Besides the people, I felt some definite presences.

    Damn.

I cannot imagine the pain that you feel inside. God bless you and help you and your family in this extremely difficult time.

Also, from what I know of you and your ambition- you will do your father proud.

    Respectfully,

    Nick

Sorry about your loss. I know what it's like to lose a father at a young age. I was 16 when my dad was murdered. Prayers are with you and your family.

Well don't wanna get too off base with your loss and this thread. Here's the brief description of what happened: My father was dating a woman for a few years. he was going to end the relationship for whatever reason. she went to his apartment and took his off duty gun. when he went to her house that night she shot him twice in the head.

she's now serving 15-20 for aggrevated manslaughter. I think it should have been death for killing a cop.

    Hey Guys:

I am so sorry..I havent responded...We had the funeral today! and the past 2 days...the wakes....I hated it all..but everyone was strong..boy I didnt know how many people knew my dad...and paid their respects...I also found out..he talked about me, my company, and my brother and sisters..life so much!! They all knew what we did!! It was amazing..Also..my father always wore a shirt and shorts outside his job..so he was put to rest in a Santana T-shirt and shorts!! Also..had a beer can in his pocket!! How funny is that!! But that was him..he was such an amazing person!!! I also found out lol..that some of my relatives drive Porsches and Jaguars..and sadly and Escadlade on 24's...It was seriously amazing the whole time.. I am so happy everything went right!! I just wanted to thank you all for everything you have done on this thread..it truly kept me positive...Even though I can hug, shake hands with all of you..ALL of you will be in my heart forever!!

Sending my condolences. Your dad was sure proud of you or he wouldn't have been telling the world all about you. That's such a beautiful thing to know. It sure is hard to lose a parent. My thoughts are with you. Continue to make him proud and good luck in your new business.

    Also sorry for your loss...

Based on my own experiences, I have learned to appreciate the widely accepted 'five stages of grief', which are:

1-Denial-"this can't be happening to me", looking for the former loved one in familiar places, setting the table for the person, or acting as if they are still there. No crying. Not accepting or even acknowledging the loss.

2-Anger-"why me?", feelings of wanting to fight back or get even, anger at the deceased, blaming them for leaving.

3-Bargaining-begging, wishing, praying for them to come back.

4-Depression-overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, frustration, bitterness, self pity, mourning loss of person as well as the hopes, dreams and plans for the future. Feeling lack of control, feeling numb. Perhaps feeling suicidal.

5-Acceptance-you have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly. Realization that the person is gone, that it is not their fault, they didn't leave you on purpose. Finding the good that can come out of the pain of loss, finding comfort and healing. Our goals now turn toward personal growth. Stay with fond memories of the loved one.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like your dad was very proud of you and his family. A lot of people never get to have those kind of relationships with their families. You are truly lucky. I wish the best to you and your family during this hard time.

Awwww everyone on FChat are so sweeet!!! I love it.. I drove the car down the Garden State Parkway in NJ here...for about 40 miles...damn that thing is low and ya feel every bump. I am going to take it out on weekends to come to my new shop :) Funny thing is, out of my whole family, I am the only one who knows how to drive a 5 speed!!!
