Bad stator in my 348?

The alternator in my 348 spider failed after 15 miles........the alternator shop had replaced all the parts, but say now that the stator itself has failed. They can not find another stator that matches, and are recommending a new alternator.

Two questions, does anyone know of a match component from another alternator, and secondly, if I replace the alternator, should I use one from a newer model, say a 360??? Would it match up to reinstall, or should I just buy a 348 alternator?

The shop did say they could send it out to another place for a full rebuild, but would be about four weeks,

Any advice is appreciated!!!!!!

Thanks Georg...ordered one from a Honda yesterday....I will post if it works.

By the way, this was also the source of the double check engine lights earlier...once the battery had a full charge, no warning lights!
