Were these ever an option? Does anyone think they are flattering to the lines?...

i don't care for the bar, but it was an option. they are most commonly seen on rhd cars as maranello concessionaires fitte dthem top most cars they delivered, similar to the light covers.
I dislike the bar. Still my Dino wears it, because it protects the nose VERY effectively, and because it was an option... Cheers, Julio
i don't go a bundle on them but mine has one and to remove it would leave a hole in each quarter bumper. what i do find strange is the fact that the seller says it's made from stainless, why would this be when the finish is chrome plated, surely ordinary mild steel would suffice and come to think of it, when i removed mine from the car one of the fixing studs sheared off and i had it welded and mine sure was'nt stainless!
Scott: Rumor has it you want it to go with your 330 America. Is that true? (Inside joke with multiple levels of inveracity). Are you going to have it installed in time for the Peninsula Tour? (Obscure regional reference). Has anyone ever seen any of the badge bars with badges? (Other than maybe an RAC badge?). If you are short on badges, I've got a few badges you could use. How about an FOC badge or a Bugatti OC badge? (Obscure and controversial reference of interest only to NWRFCA members). Mark Nerheim
Didn't know it was a "badge bar", but thought it was to protect the nose. I had mine removed when I bought my dino and filled the holes using chromed bolts. No one's ever noticed. BTW, Napolis' reply was direct and spot on. Don't do it if your car came without it.
Thank you for the veracious comment (waking the sleeping dragon...). In all seriousness, there is a badge bar mounted on one of the prospective 330 GTS cars I looked at and if there are ANY body line or bumper imperfections then this bar serves to accentuate them (a bad thing).
