Bahrain GP recommendations

I was thinking of going to the Bahrain GP. Does anyone have any recommendations about where to stay, how to get around, other attractions etc. I understand some of better hotels have already booked up so my options are somewhat limited. Should I avoid it altogether? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
