Interesting situation we got now on the grid. So what's going to happen in turn 1? Will Kubica stay in front, will Massa get around him, will they touch? If they make it through turn 1, then what about the first hairpin, or the 2nd? Will we have shifting winds blowing sand onto the track? Will Hami and Kimi fight "from the back"?

With the field that close together, this should be good.

I can't wait for the race, which is normally not something I'd say about the Bahrain GP.

I would imagine Massa will be told to keep his head and not try anything rash, He would be better to go for the long haul. but if he get's away fast I hope he goes for it.

Lewis will be waiting in the wing's for any slip from the 2 ahead , and I'am sure he will try to jump both of them on the first turn it is a overtaking one.

I think Kimi is on a long 1st stint and his aim to get in the lead will be blistering lap's before his pit stop to jump Massa, when he pit's or whoever .

should be an interesting race. finally BMW has made the step. winning should be only a matter of time, prob not this race but perhaps sooner rather than later. i don't think Kimi feels he has to win the race in the first few corners... but him and Hami will be there to pounce if Kub and Massa mess around. the bimmer prob has less fuel than others so i don't think it can hold on to win... but you never know! bring on the race!

If Kimi is heavy and is 4th or fifth, he could lose his advantage, he must keep the leader in sight in order to jump him during the pit stops. If Kimi is held up he's in for a tight fight for podium, not the win.

The Ferrari's are on the dirty side of the track so I think Kubica should hold the lead into turn 1, then I think there are 2 likely scenarios.
If Kubica's laps are slow (relatively) then there could be a train, possibly all the way back to Heidfeld (or even Trulli), that would be exciting as everyone will be trying to pass everyone. If Kubica's laps are fast, then he and Massa could pull away and, with Kimi probably behind Hamilton, (since Kimi's stating from the dirty side) this could have a big, bad impact on Kimi's strategy. A third thought would be that Hamilton could get by Massa at the start (as Hamilton is on the clean side) and possibly this could give Kubica a chance to pull away from the field (I don't think Hamilton has shown the pace to pull away from the Ferrari's at this race).

Kimi has been starting very well and it would not surprise me to see him right behind Massa or Kubica into the 2nd turn.

He won't lose sight, Lewis will be hot on there heel's and Kimi will steadly gain as his fuel load get's lighter the Ferrari is the fastest car out there IMO. Massa all being well will pip RK in the pit stop's.

    That's assuming there's no off track moment's.

My concern is that Kimi was slow all throughout qualifying. 3rd in Q1 (over 7 tenths behind Massa), a staggering 6th in Q2, and 4th in Q3. If he was just running more fuel, he should have been right up there with Massa in Q1 and 2. I'm betting that one of two things happened: He backed off some to let Massa redeem himself (not likely) or he had some trouble setting up the car to his liking this weekend. And on top of all that, he got fined for speeding in the pit lane (fortunately it was a monetary fine).

I think this will be the first race Massa wins without starting from pole.

RK did a great job in qualifying, but if both Ferraris get to the checkered flag, I think we will see the first 1-2 of the season, probably with Massa as the winner.

It will be an exciting race for sure... starts at 4 AM here, but I wouldn't miss it for anything!

The two Ferrari's are the fastest cars this race. I think that Kubica is light on fuel and that will be an issue when he pits early. A heavy bimmer will not keep pace. I actually think that Felipe will win the race from second, and Kimi will finish 2nd. The Ferrari's pace is just too fast for the Mclaren's and BMW's. The only thing that I think might make a difference is if Kimi can get Felipe out of thie pits. But either way, I see a Ferrari 1-2.

    The betting lines are:
    Massa - 5/4
    Kimi - 9/5
    Hamilton - 7/2
    Kubica - 5/1

So, Massa is the clear favorite.

agreed on the first two. RK has been driving well in a good car this year so he will take 3rd. Here's the twist: kovalainen will overtake Hami because 1) his car is in better shape 2) Hami isn't looking comfortable in the cockpit

Even with the qualifying results I have a strong feeling that we are going to see a Ferrari 1 2 this weekend. If Massa can keep the car on the track I'm pretty sure that Kimi can inch his way up to second. We've clearly been the fastest all weekend and we have the advantage of having done winter testing on the circuit. Hopefully we can pull off the 1 2 and get us some must needed constructor points.
