    Hey Possum
Don't think the clutch throw out bearing will cease making the noise overnight, unless it's quiet when cold and noisy when hot. Is that the way it works?

Some noise is there ,always, pretty much. Its a question of when is it too much. Is the rest of the clutch action OK? How much time how many miles on that clutch?

Brakes: I can't see a good night's sleep changing their behaviour.

the tried and tested way is to see if pumping the brakes improves performance, if successive pumps results in increased braking force, the indication would be that the brakes need bleeding...at least.
second part of the test , with the car stationary, apply pressure to the brake pedal (as in I really need to stop now)! Do not release, keep the pressure on. If the pedal continues to the floor, it indicates a leaking master cylinder. If the pedal does not move, then that's good!

    Hope that helps

Very similar to the problems I had as my master cylinder started to fail. It didn't fail during one drive, but deteriorated over a couple of drives until it was clearly an issues with the brakes...

I finally decided to try and correct my brake issue, first step I thought would be to bleed the brakes, started as suggested 8mm spanner, tubing, container etc.8mm to big on the rear 6mm to small must be a 7mm.I decide to check the other rear disc in case it was a different size seems also to be a 7mm,(8mm seems ok for the front)I then noticed weeping around the shaft that activates the the rear brake it has the return spring on it,even though there is not much fluid there could this be my problem?
