I'm having no luck finding the Bosch F5203 filter (from the Bosch App List). I thought Baldwin offered a fuel filter for the 308 but all I find in their auto applications is the oil filter. I did cross ref from a MB 380E (also uses Bosch F5203) to the Baldwin BF1177 which should be the same application. Can anyone verify?

It seems Fram has displaced Bosch with the major online sellers and I won't use Fram. Filter PNs in the F-Chat cross-ref thread are ambiguous. If Baldwin isn't available, how about a number for Purolator or Wix, which are also good filters. Can anyone help?

I believe that that is correct:

    Baldwin BF1177 = Bosch 0450905203 = Bosch 71051 = Ferrari 115738 (now 178647)

Haven't seen that "Bosch F5203" reference before (and it looks like a contraction of the 10-digit Bosch number), but if you search on either of the other Bosch numbers shown above at places like www.rockauto.com or www.importeccatalog.com, the Bosch part is still available (and the price at RockAuto is excellent IMO).

    Isn't the Bosch # 0 450 905 601 = 71039?

    My '83 takes the above.
And they are readily available. Even hit ebay for about $15 each.

Thanks Steve. I got the F5203 number from this Bosch application list:

Yes, it is (and it is Ferrari PN 117792). Unfortunately, I don't have access to a US version 308QV SPC so don't know if the Bosch application guide that DWPC's referenced was/is right for his car, or not (but the euro 308QV SPC calls for the 71051 filter). IIRC, either could be made to work, but the end fittings may be different thread sizes. Do you have access to a US version 308QV SPC?

Unfortunately, I believe that the 308QV listing in that application guide is only for a euro 308QV. If you have a US 308QV, it may take the other Bosch filter that Clyde mentioned. Do you have the Bosch 10-digit PN printed on your existing fuel filter? Or you might contact one of the F parts suppliers to confirm which F PN your exact year/version 308QV uses (the www.allferrariparts.com website indicates the 117792 filter is used on 308QV so that might be US 308QV) -- then you can buy either one you need using the Bosch PN from someone else for less ;)
