Don't know about phuket at the moment but in BKK it rain daily in the evening as the monsoon season started to creep in.
if you come enjoy your stay, it's a great place!

HOT!!! I just been to Bangkok last month its quite hot but I am leaving for Bangkok again tomorrow :) both myself and my wife love to go to Thailand

Actually, I have been to Trisara last Nov, stayed at one of their ocean front pool villas, really nice place, they even have plasma TV and boss DVD player inside the villas. At that time it has just opened for business, so everything is very new

But after the tsunami I dont think I will go to Phuket for a while

It's hot and humid, especially before the rain. You'd better expect to see rain quite often this time of year. Down south, it's also raining. But you probably get a cooler breez than in Bangkok.

After the Tsumani, there is much less tourist traffic. It's good in a way that it gives nature a chance to regroup and heal itself. I have heard from those who went down there saying it is very quiet and very nice. The beaches are clean and clear of debris, water is as clear if not cleaer than before.

However, the coral around Phuket and some around small islands near the shore start to bleach white. The problem is localize heat which warm the sea water. So, those close to shore will turn white. The coral is not dead yet, but if this continue, we will have another big loss.

Well, if you want quiet vacation, south of Thailand probably will be good for you right now.
