I think I got banned from another forum, simply because I didn't post enough (nothing weird or negative). I entered the URL with a proxy and it comes up, so that's why I think I was banned. Anyway, I'd like to get unbanned or register with a different username, anyone know what I should do?

Hi Noel - your best bet is to contact the administrator via PM (or a good
moderator) and see what they can do. I would not recommend the 'new
username' path - most likely your IP address will trigger a perma-ban. If
you can't get to the site at all, use a different computer on a different network,
which will get you to where you can make contact via PM or email.

    Good luck

I was a moderator briefly on another forum (that has since gone "belly up"). There were members with more than 30 user-IDs that would populate their own threads with back and forth posts using different names. I got the hell out of there. :D

    One is enough.

It is highly unlikely that any forum would IP ban someone for not posting enough. Something doesn't make sense with that at all.

Find the contact info for the owner or a site Administrator, because in most cases a Moderator probably won't have the power to solve your issue.

turns out I'm not banned, i logged in and emailed the Mod from my phone, no problem there. when I go to the site from my computer the page is totally blank, no anything, just white nothingness. everything else seems to work with any other page. ??

Clear your cache and reboot your machine, I had a similar problem here a year or so ago and that fixed it.

Those people have seriously too much time on their hands. Weird.

I belong to a forum where if you dont make at least 25 posts per month they deactivate your account. But no ban.

it's something to do with my IP; if I try to access the site from my wired desktop, blank screen, if I try from my wireless notebook, blank...if I try from a different, Windows notebook, still nothing. if I try from my phone, no problem. any ideas?

Power down your cable modem for a few minutes - it will negotiate
a new IP address with your ISP when you turn it back on. But not sure
how such a site blockage would work due to IP issues, unless your IP has
been in fact 'locked out' at the server. But easy and worth a go....

What forum is this? That sounds really weird. Did you contact the administrator about it?

You might have to have it switched off for more than a few minutes. Some systems reserve the IP for a connection for some time (maybe even 24hrs) to speed up logins. To get around this you may need to call network support who can clear the reservations and thus allow a new IP to be issued.

Like Jerry said, I got deactivated from a forum for not posting for probably a year or two. I emailed one of the moderators and the admin and they reactivated me. I think I'll probably get deactivated again :D
