Button and Barrichello for BAR F1Central.net: Team confirm 2006 line-up Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello will spearhead BAR Hondas assault at the 2006 Formula One championship. That was the announcement from the Brackley based squad on Wednesday after Button was released from his existing Williams contract. The news was bad for Takuma Sato whose Formula One future is now in serious jeopardy with few spare seats available. Sato who set the British F3 world alight never realised his early potential and struggled to make an impact on the Formula One world. Honda had originally backed the Japanese aces position, but it would appear even they tired of his inconsistencies. So next season the teams star driver Button will be paired with the ultra experienced Brazilian in Barrichello. The pair represent one of the strongest line ups in the Formula One paddock with a wealth of experience behind them. Buttons signature is a major boost for the team after he originally had signed an agreement to move to Williams. However due to Williams poor performance this season, and even poorer prospects for next year, the Briton had a change of heart. BAR, it is reported, were forced to buy out the contract in order to keep Button who will now be amongst the sports highest paid drivers.. This article was written on 20050921 I think Sato might start looking towards another career doing something else! Carol
Sato has the skills, they just need developing. Looks like thats not going to happen. BAR is screwing up taking BARrichello over him.
Ditto ... and F1 gets even more boring. Wealth of experience ... but Button has yet to win a race and RB had only won a small handful!!! Man I wish teams would go back to hiring raw talent and actually fast guys, instead of steady (and boring) Eddies ... bloody commerical pressures! Think of the sponsorship dollars Sato would have bought to that team over the years ... crashing cars get lots of media coverage Pete
Maybe this is for you: www.gpmasters.com I wonder how much wider than a normal singleseater they'll have to make the cockpit of this series. And will they use a hoist to get the drivers in and out? Also they'll have a mandatory pitstop. For taking a nap
Honda can still use Sato to sell civics all accross the globe! "Buy a Sato t-shirt get a limited editon Sato Civic free!"
