    I have heard that Barber charged one group $15,000.00 for guard rail damage and one guy $1,500.00 for oil clean up on the track! Is any of this true? Does anybody have first hand experience of Barber charging? I thought that was what track insurance was for!

    Yes, those particular figures are inflated, but it is true that Barber's charges are substantial. They lost a lot of folks after 2003 that are just now coming back. It has (had) to do with the company George hired to run the track. It's a showcase and they want to keep it that way...

    Insurance costs are so high, people list high deductibles who rent the track. It's expensive to do this stuff...

    I think track ins just covers any damage you do to your car or another car, it doesnt cover any damage to the track itself or track equipment etc

    This is how the Barber track operates. I'd do precisely the same thing if I owned the track.

    Many if not most tracks in North America which rent to clubs or private groups do exactly the same thing -- Road America being the most recent example with which I am familiar.
