Practice now well underway...
practice over.. 1.Hamilton 121.2 2.Alonso 3.Kubica 4.Heidfeld 5.Coulthard 6.Massa 7.Kimi interesting stuff heading into quali...gonna be grrrrrreat!!!
Jeez I tried to get a few hours of sleep before Qualifying started, but I couldn't fall asleep lol. I noticed they brought back "Inside Grand Prix" also, which is good because that "F1 debreif" was crap.
don't know how light that RBR was, but Coulthard was flying...Kubica's lap was pretty nice too...should be fun quali...and a good race morrow...
glad to see Lewis ahead of Alonso if only by a slight bit - hope it continues into qualifying - it will be interesting to see what the Renaults do in qualifying Inside GP about over - very interesting about women in F1. My friend who is with Audi Sport NA does the job of several and was the first woman in sports car management back in 1982 . . lovely lady. Hope Ferrari gets P1 & P2. Carol Some of the drivers don't seem to be too thrilled with the chicanes added to the track. Personally, I prefer the way it was.
Coverage just started on Speed. I'm thrilled Inside GP is back on. I had been missing it. It's such a well put together show. Mark
Hamilton in P1 has the FASTEST time of the weekend thus far. Minus 4 minutes and Lewis still P1 Kimi P4. Massa takes P2 - yipee..... Carol
Good morning Mark. That was a very nice recovery by Felipe. Davidson goes four-wheeling in the gravel, Sato stops on the track and Heikki in P1. There goes Lewis again topping Heikki and again in P1. Kimi P2. Suffice to say, Q3 is going to be awesome. Carol Webber had a hydraulic problem. Minus 1 minute and it MASSA, Lewis, Kimi, Alonso .. . . .. .
Good morning Carol, that really was a great recovery. Funny how the back end just came out under breaking like that. Lets hope they get it dialed in for the race. Mark
I would think that the problem has been addressed with Felipe taking P1 in Q2. Out in Q2 are both Hondas - Button, Rubens, Luizzi, Davidson, Sato, Rosberg. Let's hope for a good Q1 from Ferrari. Don't discount the BMW.
Are the BMW's going to out-qualify the Ferraris in Q3? Minus 6 minutes and the red cars need to pick up some speed. Wonder why all along Lewis is ahead of Alonso and in the remaining minutes of Q3 Alonso now tops Lewis on the chart - a tad fishy. . . Minus 5 minutes and Heidfeld splits the McLarens. Massa in 4th - Kimi in 8th. Minus 3 minutes and it Alonso, Kimi, Massa, Lewis - everyone should still pit - Alonso seems to be heavy on fuel. Carol
MASSA ON POLE !!!!! Massa- 1:21.421 Alonso- 1:21.451 Kimi - 1:21.723 Hamilton - 1:21.785 Kubica Trulli Heidfeld Kovalainen DC Fisi Congratulations to a fantastic end of Q3 - talk about at the last minute. Carol
that was an awesome quali session!!! great job Mass, Alonso really wanted that pole...prob running a bit light...Ferrari still gets em..horray!!! Kimi is still looking strong, in good shape...him and Hamilton possibly bit heavier than their teammates? should be a great race 'morrow..so long as Ferrari come out on top,,,and Kimi comes away leading points...
Great job FELIPE!!! Btw, I'm pretty certain Alonso is running light. He was .5 secs faster than Hamilton & Ferrari after that first stop. Now Felipe can control the race from pole. I'm certain having Hamilton in 4th is not how McLaren wanted things to pan out. Now the question is did Felipe just put together the perfect lap or is he light also? Based on the first stops, it would seem that he's not as light as Fernando, but probably not as heavy as Kimi.
knowing Mc's strategy may be to get out front and hold off Ferrari...had to run light, but didn't get what they wanted....if that's the case...great shot at Ferrari 1-2...Kimi coming away with pts lead if that's the case..
Future World Drivers Champion!!! That a boy Felipe, great job! Man, I cannot wait until the race tomorrow. I don't think I'll be sleeping too much tonight. Mark
