Actually, it seems the only fixation here is the one you have on me.

When you stop posting about how Massa is going to be the next WDC, I will stop pointing out how poor his record of achievement thus far has been. OK?

I hope you will hold yourself to that same promise when Massa gets his ass kicked.

The only points that I have stated as facts are that Massa has been beaten by every teammate he ever had in F1 and that Massa, like Irvine and Rubens, was incapable of winning in anything other than a Ferrari. Which of those are you unclear about?

I don't see you complaining about the myriad of posts on here discussing how Massa is the best thing since sliced bread and hw he is going to win the WDC next year. Frankly I find that discussion to be a waste of bandwidth. It is one thing to be a tifosi, it is quite another to be a wishful thinker.

Gazzetta dello Sport says that Coulthard has done several laps in the past and is very familiar with the circuit, but more important, he was practically on fumes when he did that time....good publicity.

I do expect RBR to do well this year. They have Newey, a top powerplant and $$$$$. Now if they could get some top drivers,,,,

When an ass sticks out, it is likely to get smacked.

I have never posted that I thought Massa will be WC. Perhaps you have me confused with one of your other little Myspace/internet buddies.

I did say he is Ferrari's driver and I will support him as I will KR. Ferrari could have replaced him, they chose not to. Unless SF is calling you to get your opinion on who should be driving for the team, your opinion has little to ad to the discussion on the upcoming season. It is effing ponderous to have to wade through your Massa bashing drivil in each and every F1 post. Let it rest already, we know how you feel.

I will. If the car is reliable, Massa will score points for the team.

Gee, I guess he couldn't have matured as a driver. It seems you have a great dislike of any Brazilian driver that might threaten the memory of your beloved Senna.

The only thing that is a waste of bandwidth on a Ferrari oriented site is deliberately and continously stated that half of the team sucks over and over. Maybe mommy never hugged you enough, but your ranting here is clearly designed to get attention. Take it up with your therapist, not here. Enjoy the season!

    Feel the Love...

I Hope no-one here actually wishs Massa ill will, and realize he is an outstanding driver. Its just that he is teamed with the best driver on the track (or Alonso). Its good to have loyalty to all of Ferraris drivers but it does strike me as strange that some advocate the #2 driver over what should be commonly known as the #1 driver.

    Hey; DC qualified #1!
Plenty of room on that bandwagon.

Why are you being so insulting? Did I do something to you? If you have a problem with my opinion, then address my opinion, why do you have to attack me personally? I hate to break the news to you but this website is a discussion forum. If you don't like the fact that I express an opinion, take it up with the framers of the Constitution and ask them to repeal the First Amendment. And then you might want to think about why you are even participating in a discussion forum if you don't want anyone to actually express an opinion.

If you are going to complain about me criticizing Massa, then I would hope you would also complain about the people who keep posting over and over that Massa is the next great F1 driver. That repetition is hardly adding anything to the conversation either. All I want to do is discuss F1. You seem to have some sort of personal issue with me. I suggest that you take it up with your therapist and let the rest of us get on with discussing the sport.

The problem with your opinion is, that WE GET IT!!!! You don't think too highly about Massa. Fine, great. Now, let's move on.

I disagree, loyalty to the team is what matters most. It is more important to be a supporter of the Ferrari team than it is to be a supporter of a driver simply because he drives for Ferrari. I think this is a point that is lost on some people. Just because Ferrari makes a decision doesn't mean that it is the correct one nor open to question. One need only look at the history of Ferrari pre-Todt to see how badly managed that team can potentially be. No one can possible claim that the team did not make mistakes in the past nor can anyone claim that the team is infallible. In fact, the current management shuffles within the team, in and of themselves, are very troubling. None of us knows exactly what is going on within the team but we can make intelligent guesses based on the information that does become available. Ferrari is capable of making mistakes, as is every team, and selecting the wrong driver is one of them.

I want to see Ferrari have the strongest line-up on the grid but I don't believe that they currently do. How many of you would rather see Button in that second seat? I know I would. JPM? Absolutely. Even DC, Ralf or Trulli would be a better choice, frankly. Anyone of them can get more out of the Ferrari than Massa currently does. Running fifth in the race and picking up the occasional point here and there is not what a driver should be doing in a car as excellent as the Ferrari. Both drivers should be at the sharp end, challenging for victories each and every race, not just the occasional weekend when everything happens to go right, including competitors falling out. Anything less than running at the absolute top, each and every race is exactly what EACH driver in the team should be doing, anything less is underperforming pure and simple. And by that standard, Massa is underperforming. He is not doing any better in that car than what half the grid would be doing and that, frankly, is a waste of a car.

Seems to me that people seem to think criticizing a Ferrari driver selection is tantamount to sacrilege. I see failing to question whether the team has built the strongest possible driver line-up as doing a disservice to the team. We should all want to see the team build the best possible line-up, especially in light of Schumacher's departure, and nothing less. Why some of you seem willing to settle for less, and then question me for not doing so, is baffling.

I've been trying to, but other folks here seem to have the need to get personally insulting towards me. All I have been doing is trying to have a discussion.

I can't wait for the season to start so we can stop armchair racing, I know you feel the same way.

I agree 1000% on cheering for the team or uniform, be it in baseball, soccer or F1. Team comes first-and in this day and age I'd rather have a first rate team of engineers and designers and a 2nd tier driver-witness Massa at Ferrari last year, than have a first rate driver in a 2nd tier car-witness Kimi @ Mclaren last year..

As far as drivers are concerned I think FA and KR are head and shoulders above every else in the field; hopefully LH and HK will make some waves this F1 season.

It would be nice to see a rookie live up to the hype as opposed to another Nico Rosberg. Even Sato was talked up after winning the British F3 title.

Maybe this will be another year like 2001, with Kimi, Alonso and JPM all making their debut?

    I have asked this before.
Why did Ferrari not hire Alonso?

He is the best driver in the world and will be until someone unseats him.

He makes few mistakes, is fast and appears to be a good guy.

Oh, Pleeeze. Esteemed Constitutional Jurist Forrest "Senna3xWC" Gump is lecturing on the First Amendment (Just replace "Life is like a box of Chocolates' with "Massa never beat Fisi and Heidfeld"). Expressing an opinion and discussing a sport is fine.....IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE THOUGHT THAT YOU TYPE OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Gosh, I'm so sorry for pointing out how repetitive you have been over the past 4 months, but I don't think that is insulting. I think you mean that you feel personally embarassed that it has been pointed out. Hey, it's OK, we all get those feelings confused and your anger is understandable.

You know, it's all OK 'cause I just expressing my opinion about your postings...ya know under the first amendment and all.

Bravo, bravo...you're getting the hang of it. This is discussion about F1 and drivers other than Massa...a breakthrough! Carry on!

Alonso made the jump to McLaren because he thought Renault might pull out of F1; Ferrari was unsure about MS retiring, KR coming on board, etc. and McLaren is a top team not withstanding their season last year; really FA's only intelligent choice at the time....

I agree with your assessment of FA but IMHO he acts like a biatch when things don't go his way.

Thank God we're only a month away from showtime.....

That is not what I find insulting. What is insulting is the manner in which you denigrate me personally in your posts. I am sure the moderators will agree.

And repetitive posting about the same topic is not limited to discussions of Massa. I have had enough of your insults. Welcome to my ignore list.

Going home to Cora? Now THAT would be interesting. Cora is his brother's wife...

As far as the Massa vs Kimi argument is concerned: Anybody who believes Massa can outdrive Kimi, has no clue about F1. Simple as that.

+1, if Ferrari had a better option they would have taken it over Massa any day. As many have stated before, the guy is a midpack driver in a top car. He could be replaced by about 10 others in F1 and would be the same result.

Kimi and Alonso are head and shoulders above the rest. If anyone thinks that the Winter Testing times are anything to go by they are mistaken.

testing is what it is..testing! don't understand how anyone can put so much faith or hope in the results of teams going through their programs. it's just silly to make holy inferences. all ferrari has to do is provide another world-beating car, and let Kimi drive the wheels off the thing (not literally, of course:) and i'll be happy cheering my butt off this season!

What do you think about the theory by people like Peter Windsor and others that it is more effective to actually prefer a B driver to race alongside a Kimi or Alonso type talent in order to maximize points for the Number 1. Although it is far less entertaining for us fans, wouldn't it be more effective than having Button and Kimi taking points away from each other? It seems to have worked well for Michael.

Seriously? He believes that? That makes absolutely no sense. AFAIK he doesn't have a bone to pick with Kimi, so why on Earth would he make such a crazy statement? Got a source for that?

I always liked Jacques for telling it how it is and speaking his mind. But if this is really what he believes, well then he just lost the latter.

Wow. Thanks for that post. Very interesting.

My only explanation is that Jacques is trying to build up Massa so he (Villeneuve) himself doesn't look so bad for the season they spent together.

The #1 ingredient a racing driver must have is speed. Kimi got that covered just fine. And as far as Alonso goes: Well, that car first has to finish.

    This just makes good sense.
    Look at KR vs JPM.
Kimi had a real shot at the championship if JPM was there to support rather than race him.
MS "picked his" team-mates based on this philosophy.
He's in it for the drivers , not the constructors, championship. Dont fool yourself.
MS almost ran RB off the track (almost taking out both) in the 6 car "race" at Indy for the audacity of being in front of him.
