Barcelona Testing 2019 (Circuit de Catalunya)

Okay, it's the first testing day. Every team will try to push as hard as possible at some point of testing, but I'm happy to see Ferrari topping the lap times chart.

 

Vettel passes Lewis. Talk about foreshadowing!

A broken down Mclaren....

 

McLaren's broken down. Gee what a surprise! They're usually the most reliable team in the world!

 

Toto the scumbag is live everyone!

 

Boots on the ground reporting Ferrari's exhaust smell is distinctly different than anyone else.

 

Like the smell of Napalm in the morning. Smells like victory!

 

McLaren remaining with a mechanical suspension arrangement rather than hydraulic which all the top teams are using. McLaren's car looks better but they're just not on the same page as the competitive teams.

 

When is Leclerc coming??? Get him out already!

It’s the AC Milan Ferrari! Pretty sure they used the black to distantiate mission winnow from subliminal Marlboro advertising. There’s a fresh big investigation in Italy regarding the legality of those connections

 

My early prediction is that Mclaren will not move up the field all that much. In fact I think they'll be deeply disappointed with their results this season. They'll be at the back with Williams and Racing Point.

Alfa looks good so far, certainly will battle hard with Renault. May lose out to their drivers. Not concerned about Kimi but am about Gio. Ric + Hulk combination the strongest in midfield by some margin. Haas will be a little bit slower than those two I believe, fighting with them all season and Toro Rosso.

Top 3 I daren't bet on so far. Need to see more what the Honda engine can do....

 

Can someone tell me if Leclerc's driving today?

 

Tomorrow the 90 is his all day

 

Would help immensely being able to hear their radio messages during these tests

 

I'm just happy we have coverage to be honest.

 

How long before MB whines and Charlie makes SF change it?

Didn’t Seb & Kimi go below 1:18 last season’s testing. I think Seb was 1:17.1 iirc

Don’t forget the new aero rules are allegedly going to make the cars slower this year but I doubt it will be for long. Again, we don’t know fuel loads, etc but the engines seem to be racking up the miles....
