I saw a thread about the barnfield in Florida with very rare Ferrari models but I cannot open the pictures. Is it possible to put some pictures about that specific barnfield on this tread. I've seen the P3 (0844) at Spa. But at the celebration of Ferrari it has a open Can-Am chass. So I would like to see those pictures of the barnfield. I cannot open the pictures of the previous thread.

Do you mean barn FIND as in 'cars that were found in a barn'?

EDIT: I see someone resurrected the thread with Medlins cars. Xander, the reason you can't see those pictures is because they're gone. The server that housed them crashed, and all the pictures are gone. That thread is from 2004.

Heres some history about the car and a pic:

"Hurricane Charley uncovered a beautiful treasure. The powerful winds blew away a barn revealing 17 antique Ferraris. The estimated cost of this treasure was 20 million dollars. Among the Ferraris was a Indianapolis 500 car and a Avanti. Everyone thought Medlin( the owner) had dissolved his collection, well, now we know. The owner was a real estate developer who was on the run form the IRS. Before the disaster of his collection the IRS seized a few personal items that he owned—a boat, some guns, a coin collection—and three Ferraris. One was a 1976 308 GTB (yawn), a 1966 Ferrari P3 and a 1967 Ferrari P4. Luckily, there were no P4 or P3's in the barn when it fell. Medlin has been in and out of the local news since, mostly over taxes, and in 1997 he pleaded guilty to tax evasion and served a few months in jail. Since then, he had been pretty much out of the public eye, until 1999, when he paid $40,000 at a bankruptcy auction for two bears, a cougar, a leopard and a famous chimpanzee named Rocky that had appeared in movies and on the television series Baywatch."

I dont get it, this pic is as small is as it can be and yet I cant upload it because it syas it exceeds my disk quota.

I think that I'm liking old Medlin more and more. Rare Ferraris, tax evasion, jail time, wild animals, even a trained chimp. Add a long beard like Howard Hughes and toss in some hot babes. Can JG get us a screenplay on this one? I smell blockbuster!

It WAS 5mb of pics allowed. Ol' Speedy308 used his up, as well........

I found Walter's PO Box with a Google search, Old Guy knows him also.

Maybe I'll drop him a Christmas Card or something........a widower now, I think he just wants to stay out of the limelight...he has kids, so I suppose they'll get the cars..

To our current thread starter: There was Road & Track article long ago, before he lost the two P3 cars, that gave you a sense of the guy....

He still has one P car left, IIRC, with a Mechanic's Lien on it or something, out in AZ...ther U.S. Gov't. was after it last year as well but he paid up the money...

    As they say....."death and taxes".....;)
