What do folks think of the estimate?

    40K-60K GBP?

Depends how badly someone wants the block to race with in their SWB while they put the matching numbers motor to one side so its safe and sound. Or am I just being cynical :-(

I imagine it certainly will go for more than £40k.

The engine alone is probably worth more than that, I'd imagine, but maybe I'm wrong. If a good re-build comes in at 25-35K Sterling, it's still way under the price of a brand new engine. And you get an original chassis and suspension thrown in.

Ont the upside, with so many GTE's broken for fake GTO's, SWB's and TR's, anything except the mechanical bits should be relatively cheap, thus keeping a leash on the cost of a full restoration.

So, I think it'll go over estimate.

And what, pray tell, is the story behind this tragedy?

Full disclosure, the 250 GTE is one of my all time favorites.

Yes, it looks like a nice car. If I remember, routine asking for similar GTEs was north of $200K a few years ago.

I just hope the buyer keeps the car a GTE and not turn it into something else. However, the buyer has the final say.

    Quoted for truth young man.

I saw my own bid value evaporate. Oh well, at least I didn't get stupid.

I agree - it can only be original once, and imagine the patina under that dust. As long as it has been dry stored... but what are the chances in England?
