This is an outgrowth of my fascination with my Moon Phase watch...which I've now sold. I have always loved old mechanical instruments. A pocket barometer and altimeter will be next...part of my Everest fantasy. But for now, I found this on eBay and it hangs on the wall in my office. It is very accurate...I can compare it to the computer info on-line...but this has a beauty that digital barometers just don't match. And the brass case and period dial make it lovely to look at. Yes.

Very cool. Do you know the age of this barometer?

Love the barometer! You should check out the LeCoultre Atmos clock. It runs on changes in barometric pressure.

My late step father had one and I let it get taken in his estate sale. I'm looking at them now...but I'd like to get one locally so I don't have to worry about it being damaged in shipping.

Loud and clear on the shipping. I have one from the '60s that needs repair, and I am hesitant to send it to send it off.
