    40k for a 348 , 50k for a 355. Are values on 348's going to surpass 355's ?

No, well, not for similar vehicles anyway.

I think if the 355 was also a red gated berlinetta you would have seen a bigger price gap.

Does anyone know the mileage on the 355? Interesting that Barrett Jackson doesn't list one of the most important things.

edit: You're right Bruce, it does appear to be a completed ebay sale.

I dont think that ebay sale finished. Reserve not met.

There were a couple other sales listings, one in CA at 79,9K in October.

I think that fist link that says salvage whatever is just something generic from that site. The ebay listing and another one I saw said clean carfax so I doubt it was a salvage title.

One listing said it couldn't be titled in CA and another said the cats had been replaced so maybe it was because of that.

Seller gets 45K from that I think. Buyer paid 55K.

That matches that ebay sale. So it appears someone did pretty well with it even at 45K net unless they did a major.

Kinda hard when you have 40 spiders for sale.

Spiders are a dime a dozen right now. GTS' and Berlinetta's are not only more desirable (by the market), not many are for sale.

That partially has to do with most people holding on to them hoping for appreciation, which I think will happen especially for the 6 speed GTB/S cars.

Another interesting fact. The amount of time, information, and selling pressure from the auctioneer that this car and seller got. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. When it came up I really expected to see it pushed a bit more, but if you're a one time seller, I guess you don't get no respect from BJ. In my opinion, of the three parties involved, BJ came out the best, with the seller second.

50k for a salvage title 355 is pretty good money. I was offered a salvage car in the 20s 3 years ago.

I don't think it was a salvage title. That link description just came up when I pasted the old sale link. There is an eBay ad in there that states it has a clear title. But who knows. Hopefully the buyer does.

If that was a salvage title car then 50k+fees was a rip off.

Where are all the $80k+ GTB? I see the two form Black Horse at $77k and $67k, and one at $61k. There are GTS at $78k and $68k. After that they are all pretty much sub $60k. Many cars in the $35 to$55k range. The highest priced car, low and behold, is a spider at $79,995. Can we call it $80k?

    So,
    Highs:

    Spider @ $80k
    GTS @ $78k
    GTB @ $77k

    Lows:

    Spider @ $35k
    GTB @ $32k
    GTS @ $29.5k

There is a spider @ $17k which I am ignoring because it was is an incomplete "project" car and not drivable. No engine or trans. Details here. Ferrari 355 2dr Convertible | eBay

I'm stiil trying to figure out why the emphasis on gtb's . Sure there are less , because fewer were ordered new , most are spiders because people want to have fun with the top down . I would guess a gts is the best of both worlds . I get it that a betlinetta could be stiffer as a race car , but is that the motivation behind buying a gtb , really ? Rarer does not always= desireable . At least the gts gives the option of letting the sun in on a beautiful sunny day , i would think that would be the most sought after model , imho .

My motivation to buy a berlinetta was looks and rigidity.

If I didn't have a different convertible to drive I would have considered a GTS equally but the top can make some noise at times which I didn't like.

It's been said before but it seems the GTS and berlinetta bring more as less are available to purchase.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see a significant increase in the value of these cars for 10-20 years and only then will we know which version proves the most collectible. I hate convertibles but I'd guess this would be one of the only cars where the coupe is worth more than the convertible.

I don't there's much downside in prices right now though.
