http://sports.in.msn.com/formulaone/stories/article.aspx?cp-documentid=3058645 Even after a shower and a post-race debrief, Rubens Barrichello was still unhappy with his F1 employer Brawn GP as he left the Nurburgring. Having suspected favouritism towards Jenson Button at Barcelona earlier this year, the 37-year-old Brazilian threatened to quit. He repeated the warning in Germany. "At the end of the day I can quit at the end of the year if I want to but now I want to get on with racing," Barrichello said. Team boss Ross Brawn told reporters after the race that Rubens' good relationship with the Brackley outfit would not be ruined due to a frustrated outburst. "I want to understand the whole picture, what he thought, what he said and we will then deal with it internally," Brawn said. But Barrichello refused to retract his claim that it was team incompetence that caused his problems during the race, and said Brawn officials had "apologised for that". "I have spoken to the team and the view is quite the same," he added. "It's not my intention to get into a fight with the team as I want to win the championship, so now I need to put my head down and work." As much as some of you may disagree, RB is the better driver. He will not be allowed to win for the simple reason that this is the year an English team will win with an English driver in the cockpit. Its very simple and easy to see. RB will get screwed over just as he did last weekend. They will not make it look easy though and it will come down to the last 2 races with Button winning it all. The show continues and many no longer waste their Sundays watching this ... .... whatever you want to call it. The fanbase for F1 is getting smaller and smaller.
While I do not agree with all of your comments and predetermined outcome, I do happen to believe that RB is a better driver than JB. He needs to qualify better and get in front of JB. Equal cars with drivers of similar talent can not pass one another without mistakes being made by the lead driver (or pit SNAFUs). The bigger worry to Brawn is the continued strength of the Red Bull team and the apparent recovery of Ferrari and Mclaren.
There are several reasons why ol' RB will not be allowed to win a championship. One, he's proven himself too good as a number 2 driver. Two, he's proven it in working with Brawn and that's how Brawn knows best to utilize him. He should have one the championship years ago if he was going to, now he doesn't fit an image F1 wants as a world champion.
One can only qualify better if the car is set up to its maximum potential. RBs car will never be set up that way. Just look at this past weekend. RB asked to switch to a 2 stop stratagy and what did his team do......Yep they switched all right....to a new set of tires. Hung around with some top notch racing people(whos names I cant mention) this past weekend and when I asked them about the past 3 seasons in F1....they said something to the fact, that something smells wroten as one of them held their nose. You can keep watching F1 and wasting your Sundays thinking that the best man and or team is going to win, but I know much to the contrary and will not waste another Sunday morning watching this greed driven show.
+1 : but they certainly won't throw the old guy, on his way out, a bone.....button-hole, is going to get it...the vote was in early....not that he deserves it...because he isn't a good driver, but he'll get it anyway.
Senna is not in the position to demand a salary he wants. He isn't good enough yet (even though he did beat buemi in GP2 last season) and only has a last name to carry about.
I'm thinking this is just a story to get some press. RB is in the 11th hour of his #2 guy career so to make a fuss now has to be some PR thing.
Or an overinflated self opinion, which he clearly has. What about his poor starts? Is Brawn to blame for those too? Any objective observer has to clearly see Button as the better driver and Rubens as a Class A crybaby.
Sunday mornings are too precious, I agree. I DVR the races now and watch them in installments during the following couple days when there is really nothing but drivel on all 100+ channels. "Button-hole" Cracks me up!
It seems to me that RB has two goals 1) win a championship, and 2) be a #1 team driver. Goal one will require a miracle. Goal two is within reach. Keep *****in, leave Brawn at the end of the season, sign on with one of the new teams, provide them with the solid journeyman driving he is capable of while helping them develop their car, and hope the team doesn't pull the next Vettel out of the hat for the other driver and he'll be #1 (although he is unlikely to score a championship point). At least he fulfills one of two goals.
I wouldn't go as far as saying RB is a better driver than Button but you have to ask yourself why they had that fuel malfunction on RB's pit stop. One thing is for sure, Jenson is a lot more British than Rubens.
I just can't believe Brawn would do that with the fuel hose I mean what about the WCC! or maybe it's me being naive!!.. I await with bated breath.. Franco !!
