We are going with Morel drivers and a Pioneer sub. I can’t remember the make of the amps but was promised full details and pictures by my friend Greg from Autoaudio Uk, their insta is below. My car is not on it yet. At his suggestion, I also opted for a small Pioneer dashcam - sadly in UK the crime scene is getting serious and prior to this we had the MetaTrak deadlock pro mandatory install done by a guy recommended HR Owen, the latter, as well as a steering wheel locking device (to be used whenever I am not in the vehicle, which must be kept in a locked garage between 10 pm and 7 am - Lockton, who are recommended by Ferrari Owners Club UK. On the upside I got a great deal for the existing Maserati and Tesla to be put on the same policy so outlay for the insurance for all three cars was sustainable for me

I did not do the maths but very approximately all theee cars valued for about £ 400k and premium is £ 7,500 for all three with all Lockton benefits which can be viewed online I think - any driver over 35 can drive the cars and we (wife and I) fully comprehensively can drive any car plus several other benefits. There is even a handy app that puts policies plus your rep’s name and contacts on your phone and so far it seems easy. Hopefully won’t need to be used for claims. Hope this helps.

Thanks , that is a litttle under 2% , however it is across several vehicles . The market I am in for a single Ferrari it is around 1% of the value , restricted km’s to 5 k annually and two drivers , must be garaged at night

That is a great deal! Mine also same terms but because of where I live the premium is high plus my first supercar.

I am paying just under 1% on my 296 GTS only that is garaged overnight and only me driving.

I should think part of that rate is a 40+ year history of driving sports cars (that was a question on the form) and my age. I also renewed just before UK rates went up this year based on last year's aggregate claim numbers/values.

Interestingly when I spoke to Lockton they would not add my daily to the policy.

Yes please. Also it looks like the mounting points for the hifi tweeters is molded into the dash next to the 4", is that a correct observation?

Hope so. Took delivery on 18th Sept and it went to Autoaudio on 23rd Sept. Hopefully ready with audio tuned in Tuesday 01 October. After that we will “burn in” the speakers and retune after 10 hours of playing. Super excited to see and hear my car

Never say never. Recent developments have prompted me to resume my 296 stereo design efforts. Namely, thanks to @Junaid13, I have now spec'd all the connectors needed in order to manufacture a harness to add an amplifier to the 296 lo-fi cars without cutting any wires.
Additionally, I was at my local dealer today and was able to take an in-depth look at a 296 GTS, and I actually will be able to design a subwoofer for this car. I'm not sure about the GTB yet, but if the firewall area is the same as the GTS, I may be able to pull this off. The one thing I'm not sure of yet is what fasteners (if any) are behind the firewall carpet. If vertical rivnuts exist (like the 488 and F8) then we're golden. If not, then I may need to design a bracket like my 458 concept.

Thanks for the endorsement Mike but honestly it was the generous cooperation of Greg and Simon at Autoaudio UK plus their brilliant installer John that deserve the credit. Lovely people and they did a sterling job. Very pleased with how it turned out and once speakers are burned in and we retune I think it will be lovely to listen to when in “stealth mode” on the 296

Thanks to @Junaid13 et. al, I have learned that an amp at least as large as 239mm x 165mm x 45mm can be installed in an open space behind the head unit. The amp I use for all the 458/488/F8/Cali/612/812/FF/etc. is the Mosconi Pico 6|8 OEM DSP amplifier, which is 150mm x 133mm x 46mm. So my preferred amp will fit comfortably in a 296. I need to get hands on a car to design an adapter plate to hold the amp, but the design should not be too complicated.

that's great news Mike. So based on our conversation the other day, eventually, a "quick" upgrade for a 296 low-fi car would include:

    Mosconi Pico amp w/ DSP
    bracket/adapter plate for it
harness for it to connect to head unit
    Focal ES 165K mid-ranges
    adapter door plate for those

Do you plan to have a speaker connection kit as well, similar to the F8, so that there is truly no cutting needed anywhere?

Hi, I am still waiting for my 296 GTS, but I have driven those without and with sound upgrade. The difference in spider, that will make some sound itself isn't worth anything above 500€. So if you don't mind to throw out money than look for a car with superior sound, but when I drove my Meridian McLaren Spiders, no sound at all was loud enough to be heard at higher speeds. The factory will laugh at us spending almost 5k for this bit of sound upgrade. And I like decent music systems, having Martin Logan electrostats at home and an Linn highend stereo amp...
My honest opinion: If you like good sound, buy yourself Apple Airpods Pro, use transparency mode and you are far superior for less than 400€.

not exactly safe (or legal here in the US) to be driving with headphones on. But yes, for a less expense than the factory "Hi-fi" you can certainly do better with a completely hidden no cut aftermarket option.

I didn't think this was necessary in the GTB I had, but in the GTS with the top down it's going to be important. And you CAN get great sound in a Spider, my F8 has a JL/Focal combo that is excellent even with the top down and at highway speeds.

In my low fi car all the low fi speakers (6 in number think) were binned and an amp and I believe 6 Morel speakers plus an amp and rather neat pioneer sub was installed. The sub was positioned beneath the glovebox and looks quite unobtrusive. Very happy with it and can her it when driving progressively with roof down. Happy days. The JBL hi-fi version, imho is not as good as mine and once speakers are burned in and retuned. It will sound great when I want to listen to music in addition to the engine

You posted the offer in July, I am in SF Bay Area and considering a “used” (84mis) with base. Is the offer still stand? Or do you have a kit for the 296 GTS - I don’t see it on your WWW?

Okay, here is where I'm currently at.
I am no longer selling the dash tweeters for the 296. It's too expensive to install them and too little sonic return on your investment. Instead, I'm offering high end, two-way drivers for the doors. That way, you get matching midrange and tweeters, and it's the easiest install ever. You don't even have to install passive crossover networks in the doors and run wires. Just remove the door panel, unbolt the factory speakers, bolt in my 3D printed midrange adapters and the two-way speaker (6 1/2" midrange with a matching tweeter), plug your factory speaker connectors into my 3D printed OEM style connector (so you don't have to cut off your factory connectors) and bolt the door panel back on.

As with all of my component speaker kits, I will be adding a new product to my website this week, which is the base model Focal kit. In about a week or so, I will be adding the high end Kevlar Focal kit on the website.
