Sounds like a rewarding project. I am guessing because of your location you should start closer to home. But here in the US, GT car parts has everything you will need including the big stuff. You could fill a smaller shipping container and have it sent your way. G.T. Car Parts INC Robb
Yes, Mike. As Robb said, it will be a rewarding project. But this Challenge car needs the attention of a reputable restoration shop like Scuderia South Africa Ltd. You'll need the chassis put on a straightening jig and reinforced where necessary for the Challenge suspension. The restoration shop can source the panels and parts you'll need and fabricate those parts that are no longer available. The final result will be an F355 Challenge safe to go out onto the track once again. It will require considerable time and expense but it sounds like you're prepared for that. Barry
Look what happened to some of these Challenge cars when they raced in the Series... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHR6c4NTHmE[/ame] They were sent to Factory-authorized coachwork repair shops and returned to the drivers in time for the next race.
If you have to change a large part of the chassis and the engine, then it begs the question of what's actually left to an original 355 challenge ? Have you any way of tracking down the original engine ?
I'm not sure but that's an enormous help. I assume will need to be rebuilt Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
It is a low mileage motor if I remember under 5000 miles. I was keeping it as a spare for my challenge cars.. You best bet is the get a donar car and not but pieces, just wanted to put it out here

With that racing history, I guess this is the car in question: 1996 FERRARI 355 GTB Challenge Right Hand Drive Project Race Car NO RESERVE

Hi there Do you have any more pictures of Ian’s 1996 car ? (#70) Cheers Ralph Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
According to my info, in 1998 the car was raced by James Munroe in the Maranello Ferrari Challenge and in the period 1999 - 2003 by Mike Reeder.
Hi there I own a few cars including this one. My car expert engineer couldn’t believe I’d bought it as it was going to cost more to restore than it was worth. However, it came with a 150 page race file … and I was in love. I’ve not seen it for over a year as it is being refurbished. Covid hasn’t helped. I think sometime in the next 6 months or so it may be back to it’s former self. I’ll keep you posted. Cheers Ralph
