Great movie! Can't wait for the next one with same cast! and Director! (Needs a new female lead, current girl looks 14 years old)
I saw it twice!! I'm a big fan of the comics and graphic novels, and Christian Bale naled the dark knight down. He's a real dedicated thesbian. His eyes can make him look psychotic at times. Has anyone else seen "The Machinist"? He dropped down to 120 lbs for that role, than went up to 220 lbs for Batman. He's 6'2..
Lol. I was just talking about that part earlier today. Not to give it away, but those that saw it already know. "Didn't get the memo?"
That's exactly how i felt... i loved the part of the movie when they actually showed the title of the movie... i was like, "HOLY ****...!!!" This, in my opinion, was, by far, the best Batman movie ever made... i look forward to the next installment... Having grown up on comics - mostly Marvel, but some DC as well - these movies that have been coming out in the last few years have rekindled some friendly childhood memories... i can't wait to see the Fantastic 4...
Nah, the Spiderman movies were good "Date Movies." Batman begins was not. I could have done without the commercial for the sequel at the end of the movie, where gordon hands batman the Joker's card.
I saw the movie last Friday (by myself, dateless, ) and I really enjoyed it. I think C. Bale and Michael Keaton were the best Batmans, IMO. My favorite part was when he pulled up in the hotel (that he purchased) in that stunning Murcie Barchetta....ouch!
I just watched Batman Saturday night and Batman Returns today both on VHS. In my and my friends' opinions, 1989 Batman sucked a lot! It was a cool movie at the time, but after seeing it now, it really really really sucked. Batman Returns is still a pretty good movie, though. The plot and acting were good. Batman Begins is my favorite Batman movie with Returns in second. Christian Bale was definitely a great Batman and I can't wait for the other Batman movies to come. As I mentioned in a previous thread, it was cool that they used a Murcielago in Begins because Murcielago translated from Spanish means "Bat."
oh man i just saw this movie today w/ my friends. It was one of the best movies i've seen in a while. Love the plot, love the actors, and love that tumbler!!! jeez i gotta get me one of those!!! i like the line at the end, "I'm not gonna kill you, but I don't have to save you" and just fly's off. I thought that was cool. Man I gotta see that again, love all those gadgets.
i think i've been to two movies in the last three or four years where i was with someone else... i LOVE going to the movies alone... It's two hours of peace and quiet, in the dark...
i'm not sure... If the earnings will at all mirror the way i read comics as a kid, Batman won't even come close... i was a HUGE Spiderman fan and only read Batman on occasion, comparatively...
From another forum: "That's a retouched photo of Conrad Veidt from The Man Who Laughs (1928) Bob Kane's inspiration for the Joker. http://www.porkepyn.com/docs/conradveidt2.jpg "
F*ckin' amazing!!!! I"ll be going to see it soon. My friend says I won't be disapointed since it is in the same spirit of the Dark Knight series by Frank Miller, of which I am a big fan. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just got back from it and I totally agree. Begins is the best, followed by Returns. This one is by far the best of all 6 Batman movies. The training he recieved on the mountaintop, and how that tied in with the plot later was interesting. Liam Neeson and Michael Caine were very good. The Scarecrow as a first villian was a good choice, I thought sending all of Gotham on a bad acid trip was pretty funny as well. One thing I didn't really like was that Katie Holmes' character finds out Batman's identity. It would have been more interesting, IMO, if she continued to think Bruce Wayne was just a shallow playboy, when he is in fact helping clean up the city more than she knows. In subsequent movies, there could exist more opportunity for sexual tension between the two, plus of course dramatic irony for viewers. She pretty well tells him she is not interested at the end, so there will have to be another love interest...hopefully Jessica Simpson. (Saw a preview for Dukes of Hazzard...mmmm Jessica) Overall though, a strong 9 out of 10 for me. Better than Revenge of the Sith, and probably the best I've seen in the theater for a long time. My prediction is that Begins will be the biggest grosser of the summer. I hope we don't have to wait until 2008. Hopefully Christmas 2006. This one will be tough to beat though.
The scenes involving the batmobile were pretty lame. Could have been a *lot* better. Agree on the overall movie though--good flick.
It's been two years and almost four months since i laid my eyes on the first Enzo i ever saw in person... At that moment, one of my first thoughts (after i was finally able to form some) was that that a black Enzo would make a PERFECT Batmobile... But no one listens to me...
