    Hi all,
I am in the process of replacing my central coolant hoses, and the fuel system hoses. I would also like to replace the main battery cable that runs in a tube from front to back. Well It doesn't seem to just want to pull out. I have disconnected the hold down for the cable at the front, and attempting to pull out the back, won't budge. Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Jeff

I would be interested in the answer to this, I don't recall an fchat thread over the years dealing with this.

Out with old, in with the new.
last night I squirted some PB Blaster into the cable tube, today with a good yank it came free. So no, their are no clips securing the cable to the tube.

The old cable was in very poor shape, insulation had numerous cracks, copper strands had quite a bit of oxidation, etc. Well worth replacing while I was in there.

Makes you wonder how many start and charging problems relate to an old cable that get blamed on a weak battery, or possibly even the fuseboard.

Agreed, the original battery cable ends were quite heavily coroded, so who knows what effect it had on the electrical system, glad I changed it.
