Hi Everyone, dealer gave me new battery when I bought the car. With the NJ weather and potholes (more like sink holes), I haven't been able to drive the car too much. The question is how long can the battery last with the car not being driven before it dies? I am in a temporary high rise until our house gets built so I don't have access to an outlet for battery charging. Any advise (besides telling our builder to hurry up and build the house )?

Experience in these weather conditions 3wks assuming some battery drain exists with your config. Bad things can happen at start when she's not fully charged. Have you considered temporary garage storage with power?

Yah did consider storage but we are moving in 2 months or so and there aren't that many places close to me. Figured once every 2 weeks I would run the car for about 10 minutes to charge battery!

My $.02 is to move the car to a place with power. Alternatively, you could could use the electrics kill switch and disconnect the battery. You don't want to run and idle it repeatedly just to charge the battery.

This situation is covered in detail in your owner's manual. Give it a read.
One solution would be to remove the battery and take it to your house to charge it and/or put it on a battery maintainer.

We live in a condo, so I never have access to electricity at the car.

Here's what I use (shown in post 32 and 33 of this thread)
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q/327647-battery-tender-absence-power-outlet-2.html

Here is a previous iteration. Easier to put together, but not as efficient at getting electricity from the source battery into the car battery.

I might be tempted to try a solar one, assuming that there are good lights in the parking structure.

Don't forget to shut the battery switch off. You have to make sure to put your window down a bit otherwise the door won't close, and also you have to be able to open the trunk lid (or leave it ajar) so you can get at the switch again. Should extend the battery life a lot.

The whole idea is not to have to shut off the battery switch and go through the run cycle when the switch is turned back on. All of the low amperage solutions in the other thread do not require using the battery disconnect switch. The best appears to be the portable 12 V battery, like one I carry on fly fishing trips in the sticks, and the device that allows the portable to drain while still charging the main battery. Many owners already have one of the portable batteries plugged into the wall socket in their garage. I know I do. It starts all the neighbors' cars when their batteries go flat.
