Just removed the F1 gear indicator to have fixed and prior to the removal I turned off the battery.

Is there any harm in leaving this off for several days or a week?

When you hook it back up, be sure to let the car warm up for at least 15 minutes so that the ecu can relearn the warm up parameters. Do not touch anything at all. Just let it sit and idle, with all the accessories turned off and the gearbox in neutral.
