My first issue to resolve, I was getting use to the aftermarket JVC radio in the car, when suddenly I started hearing a buzzing sound, then the radio turned off, I'm wondering WTF... Then I decided to start the car to see if I somehow drained the batter, well I did, I got a reading of 10.4 V. so I just pluged up my trickle / genious charger. The salesman I bought the car from had mentioned to me they had problems with the battery, so they replaced with a new Interstate (MTP-91-FR CA875 CSA700 RC120) I'm wondering if they actually followed the procedure as mentioned on this site several times, you guys think I should go through the proper steps or just give it a good overnight charge ?

The Modena is like any other european car, except it is much much prettier. This is the sorting phase of the car. Once you get it sorted, it's going to be a reliable ride. A couple of things are in my mind:

    1) WHY is the battery draining down to 10.4 volts. I installed my interstate 3-4 years ago and she still starts right up every weekend after sitting with no trickle charger.
    2) When they installed the aftermarket stereo, did they do a half-ass installation with electrical tape? Or did they properly connect things? Did they have a proper key (+), or did they just connect it to the + and - of the battery. I reverted mine from the pimpin' Sony to a proper Becker radio. This might be the drain to the battery
    3) Are there any other tracking devices that might be draining the battery?
    4) Is your alternator actually charging the battery? The + line has been known to fray and build resistance where it meets the alternator. If no drain is found, consider looking at this. Trying to charge a very low battery taxes the alternator and makes it work very hard. I've always thought that using repalcing batteries every 3-4 years is better for the car than replacing alternators. Since I've done this, I haven't replaced an alternator.
    5) IMHO I'd get a new battery. Once its too low its trashed and won't hold a charge. I'd try to charge it with a good charger (NOT A TRICKLE CHARGER) and see how it works. (Disconnect the + line to the battery if you do it in the car and make sure the vent line is attached, ideally remove it) Another one of my rules is never trust a used car salesman.

The pros here say that a large proportion of the electrical faults and discharging batteries are caused by aftermarket stereo installations. Depending on where you are, you should take her to someone really good at Ferrari stereo installations and let him find where the fault and current leak are and fix.

First test I will do next is; remove the power from car radio, I noticed a red wire with a fuse going towards radio, if that's not the problem I will then perform a parasitic draw test.

Update: I decided to remove the battery and have get a good full charge overnight, as I was removing battery, I noticed all sort of different wires under dash both passenger and driver side, I think I might have found the source of battery drain, Lo-Jack and Escort Radar,
