My '89 328 GTS has a permanant pigtail socket installed underside of left front spoyler. The pigtail socket is directed wired to the battery. The + wire has a 20 amp fuse that is burned. I want to but a battery tender plus to keep battery charged while the car sits for a few weeks. What amp fuse should be re-installed, replace the 20 amp? Thanks for the help.

If you are just using a battery tender on the pigtail you shouldn't need over 5amp since I don't thing the Battery Tender puts out more that a couple amps. Check the output on the back of the battery tender. There should be something that shows max output current?

A Deltran Battery Tender Plus puts out 1.25A maximum. I would use a 2A slow blow fuse.

I installed a 2 amp fuse and will be getting a Battery Tender Plus.
