I just called my buddy and he confirmed it's the same connector.

Thanks guys. As my 22 Tributo is likely days away from delivery, I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. Also hoping that consistent use of the CTEK 7002 will negate me getting stranded on the side of the road (as was the case with my 488).

Congrats on the inbound F8. I just replaced the eight year old original factory battery in my 2014 458 Spider. I use a CTEK 7002 and a battery tender cable purchased off the site I posted earlier. I also add a few 8 foot extension cords to make things easier: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ADIHUVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1B00ADIHUVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title.

I've successfully used jump kits from BeatIt (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C5PMXXZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and Noco (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0924V8SPC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1) in my other cars, but caught the failing battery in my 458 early enough that I didn't need to jump start it. The jump kits are small and stay charged for a long time (literally had not re-charged one for two years and it easily started a completely dead BMW over Thanksgiving, that battery was also on a CTEK 4.3 tender, but had a date stamp of January 2012). I've used the BeatIt jump kit on my Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible with absolutely no problem. I keep one in each car now.

I have a Portofino M on order and will be buying the above cable and CTEK 7002 for it as well.

Thanks Rob. I purchased a Beatit jump starter as well, but that was after my 488 battery failure event (a guy in a 1995 Toyota Corolla gave me a jump while his wife videoed the event and promised to post it on FB (ugh))! So I'm optimistic that the CTEK 7002 will prove effective in extending battery life and more importantly negating another failure while traveling. I bought both the CTEK 7002 as well as the F8 interface connector. joe

Good deal. My big worry these days is with how long cars are spending in shipping, potentially killing the battery before it even arrives.

As a corollary to your story, I've been the guy in the Ferrari who stopped and gave a jump start to a Toyota 4Runner (with the BeatIt kit, obviously). That guy was pretty surprised when I stopped to help.

One of the things I like about the BeatIt is that the plugs act as a volt meter (plus you can make sure you are connected to the correct places before attaching a battery):
