Just wondering if anyone uses one of these, my 328 is in storage most of the year. If i get one are there any suggestions of the best place to mount it?

    Thanks

I have been using the battery Tender by Beltran for over 12 years with good results. I believe the reason my old battery lasted 11 years is because of the tender. One time I didn’t use my car for six months but it’s on the Tender, then I went to start the car after being on the battery tender and it started right away. For long and short storage battery tender is the way to go.

I have used one for several years. I have and exterior mount located below the bumper on the driver's side (US 328), It NEEDS to be where you won't miss it if you have to leave in a hurry or are running late. I have towed one wire about 2 blocks before it came loose of the Suburban.

The tender comes with a kit where you can use the provided clips and or you can hard wire it from the battery and ran the wire somewhere outside the car where you can easily plug or unplug the battery tender.

I've never used any battery tender for my 308 in 34 years of ownership. I just disconnect the battery after each drive and when in winter storage. Come spring the car starts without any assistance. Last battery I have lasted 14 years.

I've used a battery tender for more than 20 years. I can tell you the easiest way to use one is to take off the clips that they come with, and attach a cigarette lighter adapter. When your car is parked in the garage, no need to access the battery or install special connectors... just plug the tender into the cigarette lighter receptacle in the center console! :)

I have done all of the above for the 20 years I have had my 308. I must say that I like the tender the best. I mounted a Genius G4 to the wall in the garage and plug all four cars in at once. Really easy. I found it best to hard wire the connectors to the battery rather than the cigarette lighter.

I have also never used a tender and the car is sometimes stored for up to 7 months annually with the battery disconnected at the Negative quick disconnect. Been doing that since '08 and after storage/reconnection, starter spins/car starts as if it had been running yesterday. I do the same with other cars/motos we own that are not driven/ridden for extended periods though none of the others are as easy to discount the battery as the 328. ;)

Of course, the disadvantage of disconnecting the batt is that you lose settings etc on modern vehicles. Doesn't apply to a 3x8! Well...other than the clock.

I use them on every car I do not use daily...never had a problem with them, and only had 1 fail in 20 years, and that was from a defective unit

Believe it or not I have used a Sears $24 unit (when I bought it) for years and have had no problems at all. I also have a plug-in receptacle in the grill.

Also had one fail recently. Maybe only about 6-7 years old. I think it had a short and popped the fuse. Otherwise worked fine.

Re-upped and bought this one as I have multiple batteries I need to trickle at once.
