    The shield is just fiberglass and the ear that bolts to the frame tears off. I contemplated buying one bit its over 1K and it will just rip. I got sheet metal, measured, bent it and riveted it.

    Make a template from poster board then you can clamp a metal ruler to the bend radius of the sheet metal and force it over against he work bench to bend it. Easy to do with hand tools and gives a U channel gap from the metal ruler for the shield. Drill out old rivets then then rivet the ears back on after you slide aluminum over the top and tap it down.

    I clamped it too tight with pliers to rivet the top rivet on the large ear to the frame section and crushed the seam. Its soft there as the fiberglass is missing there, that is what tore off. I'll have to redo it I think. I'll take it back out and wire brush and treat the typical rusty stud as well.

    Just a suggested fix others may have better ideas.
