so what is recommended as far as AH rating? anyone know?
I have found no operational difference between the smaller 800 to 850ma "wall wart" battery tenders, and the larger 1.25 to 1.5 amp ones save for this: After a larger unit has reached full charge, I have attached a smaller unit and observed that it will continue to charge for an additional 10 to 20 minutes to reach a "full charge" indication. If I try the reverse, the larger unit will immediately display full charge, if substituted for the smaller unit displaying full charge. This gives me the impression that the smaller units can reach a higher state of charge. Whether this is significant or not is debatable. I personally have not worried about it in the least. Do note the smaller units will take longer to reach full charge as well, since they are almost half the output. But for topping up, as they are intended, I find them all pretty much interchangeable.
