Anyone here replace their battery recently? I am a proud new owner of a 2001 456M GTA, in TDF and my battery is flat.........I tried to charge it, but it loses it's charge after sitting overnight. What companies sell a battery for this or does anyone still happen to have the model number of a battery that fits? The one in there right now is a brand that I don't recognize and it is not OEM for that matter either.........Thanks, and hopefull this weekend I will be posting some photos!!

Jimmie, DJ- Here is the latest battery document I assembled. My next battery will be an Odyssey, but they are twice as expensive as the MTP-91.

    Terry,

Ferrari now lists Braille Batteries with replacement part numbers. The Braille B7548 Group 48 Enduarnce Racing Technology Battery is listed for the 550 and 575. They run ~ $165

I had one installed last month. Time will tell how good they are.

the 456mgt sucks down a lot of juice. you must religiously turn the battery switch off when not using the car. and replacing the battery means taking out the expansion tank etc, so be ready.

Barry- That is a new one on me. Will have to do some research on Braille. Please post whatever you have. My Interstate MTP-91 just will not quit, so no replacement needed any time soon. I only put the CTEK charger on her when I will be gone over two weeks. Any less than that and no problem.

Wonder if Brailles are made by Johnson Controls?

    Terry,

Next time I'm at Classic Coach, I'll ask them to print out Ferrari NA's replacement battery list. For the time being, visit Braille's website at: http://www.braillebattery.com/

My Interstate was about three years old. I'm sure it would have lasted longer, but I consider periodic battery replacement to be routine maintenence. So I had Classic install the Braille. They no longer stock Interstates.

Barry- Assume the battery is a B7548. Really impressive CCA. Surprisingly short warranty at 60 months. The Interstates are 85 months and the Odyssey is 48 month free replacement. Not much difference to you if you change batteries every 36 months.

Will add it to my battery document.

    Terry,

It's a braille tech sheet sent to Classic Coach and not a Ferrari NA document as I thought. The Ferrari PNs remain unchanged. But it's a valuable fitment guide for recent and current Ferrari models and worthy of inclusion in your battery replacement document.

Steve- Affirmative, no problem. Many FChatters have a tender permanently wired into the car and only have to hook up an extension cord. There are several threads here and in tech q & a if you do a search.

Keith- Too many stories of failures since they were bought by Johnson Controls, so I have been loathe to recommend them.

Hey guys, just a quick thanks! MTP-91 is in and she is back up and operational. I'll be sure to clean her off a bit this weekend and take some pics, my first Ferrari and it's everything it's cracked up to be. Cheers!
