has somebody seen the test by bbc? yesterday i saw the test and was happy when he said thad the Enzo is the best on track and F40 makes most fun!
Well he is right, isnt he? The F50 is the most incoherent thing ever to come out of a Pininfarina-sketchbook. Someone on here once called it a childs bed and thats exactly what it is. Horrible.
Could not have said it better, lol. About the show: yes, I have seen it on BBC World about 2 days ago. According to Clarkson the F40 still is the king among supercars. For the simple reason that an F40 is a drivers car which the driver controls, and not the other way around. Great comment from him.
What? No way, F50 is one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever built. IMO, I think it even looks better than F40.
The big comparision here is not the Enzo or the F40, but rather turbo vs NA type engine, don't you think? Why else did they compare the F40 and the Enzo, why not F50 and Enzo...
No, he compared the F40 to the modern supercars in general. He liked the F40 more above the others because, according to him, the F40 is a drivers cars whereas modern supercars control or check every movement the driver makes.
I think that the F50 is the most beautiful Ferrari manufactured up to this date, and am wondering how people could even possibly refer to it as "ugly". Well I guess that the phrase "the world is beautiful because it's varied" is true, everyone is subjective and opinions vary a lot
I think you forgot about the F512M... Was this test the same as the one showed a couple of weeks ago (Top Gear), or was it a new test?
Could all those who hate or think the F50 is ugly please explain why. To me it is a stunning car and the lines are fantactic. How can you criticise the shape? The rear is an updated look of the F40 but everyone seems to love the razor sharp lines of the F40 so whats wrong with being curved? I certainly wouldnt like to drive around in shoeboxes all day (not referring to the F40). The front is far nicer and appealing than the Enzo although i do like both. Interior - well i'd rather have leather than cloth. Leather and possibly some carbon instead of full carbon etc. People need their comforts you know and yes i know the ride is harsh. What is strange is that when the F50 came out, everyone loved it including myself. When the enzo came out, i didnt like it (not the only one)but now after seeing it on top gear, it certailnly became more appealing. I just cant understand people criticising it and not giving reasons so if you do want to explain your 'ugly' feelings, feel free, i cant wait......
if the F50 is a childs bed, whats the F40? Or maybe i just dont know what a childs bed looks like....
There have been many discussions going on about styling. In the end it is all a matter of personal taste. When the F50 came out in 95 many people hated it for its looks, today many people still hate it. IMO the overall design of the F50 is a mess. Uninspiring front with sad looking headlights, ridiculous mirrors, overstyled wheels, too large side windows, too large wing, strange curves and on and on. The proporions just don't look right. Like I stated, that is an opinion and nothing more...
At first glance I liked it. Then i looked at it from all sorts of angles and started to dislike it more and more.
I agree with Clarkson I never looked at it a childs bed, but I can see it now. I personally refer to it as the gay batmobile or an F-40 that was riced out by the power puff girls
this is ridiculous true ferrari lovers shouldn't hate the F50 I think the f50 is the best looking ferrari ever, the Enzo looks pretty weird and the f40 is square-shaped and looks gross and ancient, but I still love the ENzo and F40. Even though you think it doesn't look good, it's a ferrari, and you should love it. I'm sure that if somebody drove up to your house in an f50, you would hop in. who really cares what Clarkson thinks... it's his opinion, it's not a fact and I think he's a *****
In a recent comparison in Auto Italia magazine they compared the 288 GTO, F40 and F50. The F50 came out on top for sheer useability and raw speed. Having said that, I would personally prefer the 288 or F40 because for some reason they are more iconic of the Ferrari ethos?
Never take to granted what Clarkson says. When he test drove the F50 a while back, he said he loved it to death.
No where in the Bible of Ferrari does it say that one should love all as the same. A Ferrari is not a child and not all are created the same, so some are liked more then others in the eyes of some.
At first, I disliked the F50. I thought it was ugly, like a frog. I don't like the front profile of the F50 still to this day, but I love the side profile, it's gorgeous. And even all that styling and what not cannot turn me off from the one important thing that all Ferrari's should have and the Ferrari F50 has one of the greatest -- that screaming V12 of the F50 and F50 GT is like a Mozart or Beethoven piece. The only better sounding engine is a screaming 18,500 RPM revving F1 engine.
I think when you put the F40, Enzo, and F50 againist each other, the road version of the F40 AND F50 shines. But I think in racing the F50 GT is one of the best.
i cant believe people think the F50 is ugly i think its pure sexy then again i think the Enzo is one of the best looking cars ever i guess im just weird like that
