Try to read this each week. Kimi....thats too rich for a Renault team lacking full Renault funding. Fun thought though!
Actually I was going to post a thread about Renault getting Kimi. My source over at Renault says that was a big discussion this weekend at Montreal. Very possible that it could happen
While I agree that Kimi is done for (and I'm a Kimi fan), he would be better than Petrov, who is utterly useless. Petrov is Piquet Jr. by another name. As is Hulkenberg (whom I held in high regard), di Grassi, Senna, Chandhook and delaPink. Still hopefull for Kobayashi, but every race he keeps disappointing me.
The management at Renault thinks otherwise. How can you dismiss somebody who has just a few GP under his belt? Beside, Petrov brings sponsorship to Renault; have you noticed the LADA stickers on the cars?
If Kimi will get off his high horse and take a pay cut yes. But also he said he never wants to be in F1 just for the sake of racing like Barachello is. I'm not sure if Kimi is completely done for, I mean he should still have the speed, just depends on whether he's got the drive to win (no pun intended). And I think the drivers in the new teams it's hard to say how good they are because their cars are so bad it would make anyone look terrible. But Hulkenburg and Petrov, I would be surprised if they got a drive for next year.
Yeah the Kob-ster was pretty fun to watch late last year...he just hasn't completed enough laps to try all those daring passes and blocking maneuvers!
You still believe all that? Translation: Renault: Petrov's watch is ticking Petrov still has a chance in Hockenheim and Hungary to improve otherwise his time as Renault driver is over. The Renault management under Boullier is getting impatient: Each GP weekend Kubica proves what progress the team has made, but mostly the French remain a one car show - Petrov needs more time (based on his own statements) to develop. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My forecast is that he is gone soon.
I'm waiting for Paycheetoh to make his move. He's about where I expected him to be at this point in the season.
In another time, Petrov would have been great wall fodder for a teamate's championship hopes....makes one long for the past, huh?
