    Someone mentioned the ansa sport exhaust as well as sport headers being an option. My 83 has the sport muffler/exhaust. I believe Frank posted a pic of the non-sport headers from the rear with exhaust removed, how about a pic of the sport headers? My header outlets are different from the pictures posted. Maybe 512's had different headers from year to year I dont know, I just want to know if I have the sport headers. These are my headers.

    Im not sure, I just looked in the archives and found the pic, garyreed posted it and the headers in his pic are not the same as mine. His are stock BBi's according to him. The sport headers turn out to the side he says. Interesting.

    I (believe) the stock exhaust headers have four outlets on each side ?

    Where the sport/deportivo exhaust headers have only three on each side ?

    My mechanic claimed genuine exhaust headers would not make much difference in power ?

    There are 2 types of exhaust manifolds for 512BB. Side exit large diameter is sports manifolds.

    Straight up and small diamteter is standard.

    512 carb and BBi are the same.

    365 have a different style again for the std system, and the main boxes exit very wide at the rear bumper instead of towards the centre.

    I've heard of sports silencers being available that fit onto std manifolds, but never seen one.

    Thanks for the pic and info guys. I grabbed a couple on part numbers off the headers this morning, There are 4 numbers but just grabbed 2 of them, 105891 and 105892. Does anyone have a parts book they can run the numbers through? Thanks in adavance. Pinnin512 very nice, I thought mine was clean underneath, seems I have some detailing to do.

    Thanks for the info, my car has the sport manifolds and ansa sport exhaust. When would the manifolds have been installed? Assembly line as an option or dealer installed only?

    Yep- my car has the stock 512BBi headers (they've been Jet Coated).

    FerrariFixer's comments are correct about the differences in the sport headers.

    Here's a couple of shots of my polished Larini exhaust system from England. It's a thing of beauty.

    It sounds very nice and refined, it's a little louder than stock at idle and starts making more noise above 3K. It's not a huge noise maker like a Tubi though, much more subtle.

    The car definitely breathes a lot better with it.

    Here's short video clip of the car idling and reving up a bit. This was filmed right after the install and the exhaust has gotten a bit louder since getting broken in with use.

    The retail price last year was apx. 2,000 British Pounds.

    They also make a muffler system to fit the curved "sport headers" too, attached is a photo of it. It's a real bundle of snakes.

    The company is in England and you can contact them at: www.larinisystems.com

    David Clark was the person who I dealt with on the purchase.

    Nice again.

    The Bell pictured here is also to fit the std manifolds, and I've just had a car in recently which had the same system to fit the sports manifolds, so it's good to have two options for all those cars with std manifolds.

    The Manifolds themselves will make some difference to performance as the diameter and flow of the pipes are quite different... But for the extra expense of manifolds, personally I'd stick with std if it's what I had already and they were in good condition.

    But I've got full sports system on mine, with Ansa sports system at present.

    Larini and Bell both look very tempting.

    I was just stating that I looked into it when I was shopping for a BBi. I have no affiliation with Bell whatsoever.

    The web site is here: http://www.bell-silencer.co.uk/

    I emailed the link on the website and got this response;

    Hello Mr. Harvie,
    Thank you for your inquiry, please find attached some photos of our stainless steel sports system for your 512BBi Ferrari. As requested, I am pleased to quote the following price;

    S/S 512 BBi Sport System - £1300.00

    Unfortunately I cannot get a price for shipping to United States until I have the weight and dimensions of the parcel. We charge shipping at cost!

    We do not stock the exhaust system and only make it once an order has been received you would therefore be looking at a delivery time of 10 weeks at present on conformation of order.

    If there are any queries do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind Regards,

    Matt Bell
