That was my thought as well because of those wheels. But didn't his car have alot of stickers on it? I don't see any melted stickers.
Those came after the controversial rebuild. The car has been rebuilt as a replica LM and is for sale. Many interesting threads about it. Search for Roland Linder or LeMans and make sure you have an extra large bucket of popcorn!
Aaaaa $50 supression kit? It looks like this car took a hard hit. This car may have been on its' roof, in which case it would have been a total despite the fire. As a result, it doesn't appear that a fire system would have saved this car. And a fire supression system costs alot more than fifty bucks.
Fire suppression kit is much more expensive, yes, especially done right. That being said, a lot of these cars go up in flames because the stock cats are hugely dangerous and absolutely the worst thing you can run on the cars. Test pipes are the SAFEST option.
