Today I ordered this, the car I have been waiting for. I've asked BBR numerous times if they would ever release a full CF LaF, and today they have. Rumour is the 1:1 counterpart of this car is going to a client in Japan.

I ordered the car with the red base and display case, BBR states only 49 of these will be produced.

I can't wait until I receive this model. Very happy and excited that I managed to get hold of 1 of the 49 with the display case. For you serious collectors out there, it might not be that special. But to me, this is a very special model. It represents the ultimate LaF spec in my eyes. If I was in the position of ordering a LaF, I too would've requested a full CF finish.

Here are some details of the model from BBR:

It came in at roughly €400 (~$550) excluding local taxes, purchased directly from the BBR online store. Pretty hefty price tag, but in my eyes a unique opportunity.

Thank you for your kind words :) I hope the CF looks as good as it does on the pictures. This is my first BBR, I look forward to studying the details.

I thought they'd be asking for far more. Given what you're getting, it sounds like a great deal.

BBR do have a reputation for charging a lot of money for what they give you, but you pay a price to own something not seen in every model store. As well as that, I doubt any other manufacturer will be allowed by Ferrari to produce a 1:18 version of the one-of-one CF LaF.

I believe they are producing 300 models of this car in total, but only 49 with the red base and display case. I was told by BBR that from tomorrow it'll be possible to pre-order the models which will be delivered in October. However, today I managed to get my hands on one of the models that are already produced, which means I don't have to wait for anywhere as long. (I think the early batch is all sold) :)

Actuality that is not to bad of a price for such a rare and limited number model, nice score.

Unfortunately, the very limited first batch of cars is sold out (in fact, there was only 1 left which was the one I ordered).

BBR has told me that they will be updating their online store tomorrow, so that it will be possible to pre-order the remainder of the production (both the regular and display case edition). However those models will not be dispatched until October. The models that are sold out ("product not available") are the models that are already produced and ready to be delivered to customers.

I recommend you subscribe to BBR's newsletter as well as talk to their excellent customer service when it comes to information regarding upcoming models and pre-ordering.

Cool. I bet this is a small investment that will see a return some years down the road.

Do you have experience with AutoArt models? I have looked at some BBR's (because: Ferrari) and would liked to know about a quality comparison. BBR should of course be better, but I just want to know how much better because AutoArt Signature series is basically half priced and pretty good.

No, I don't have any experience with AutoArt. I am very inexperienced with models in general. Don't collect at all, it was just this one that I had to have. I believe BBR's are sealed models (except for select series), whilst AutoArt are 'open' models. For some it's a big thing being able to open the doors, hood and so on. But I'm not going to "play" with the model, it's going to sit in it's display case. So I really don't mind.

BBR's are expensive, without a doubt. But BBR produces many models (specifically Ferrari's) not available from any other manufacturer. And as I said earlier, you pay a little extra to have something not seen in every store. There is a difference between mass produced items (AutoArt) and limited models such as BBR.

I think you can find nicely detailed and proper quality models coming close to BBR for a more affordable price, but then it's most likely not going to be based on a unique Ferrari or a limited model production.

Hmm, yes sealed model is kind of big deal (IMO), in a negative way :p Thanks for your feedback. I only have one sealed model, P4/5 Competizione (first year model (non-KERS model)) and it looks so good just sitting there in the closet, so I can really relate to your enthusiasm. You will not be disappointed, I'm sure :)

I received the model today. It looks fantastic and the detail is superb! Even the interior CF lining (dashboard panel etc.) is top notch.

However, the car is quite diffucult to take decent pictures of, as the weave has a tendency to resemble dust particles.

So for now; here's my best attempt at showcasing the CF weave.

Thank you both. Yes, it was great to get the model despite FedEx's (horrible company) self-inflicted delays.

Packaging was excellent. Model arrived in a large box with lots of protective wrapping. The detailing is simply staggering - I'm constantly finding new details to gaze at; seat belt buckles, the fans in the front, intruments inside (it has the entire TFT screen), the 1/499 plaque between the seats, etc. etc.

Here's another picture. Please excuse the poor quality (btw there is glass on the side windows although the picture makes it look like it's open).

To use the age old cliche - Pictures do no not do the model justice! Looks so much better in real life than what pictures portray.
