    Hi all,

I'm trying to get hold of some BBS CH alloys for my UK 1994 348 GTB. These are similar to the 360 Challenge wheels but considerably cheaper.

Does anyone know for sure if they are available for a 348 and would 8x18 and 10x18 fit correctly?

I've read some posts that say they are not , other posts that say it is the 19" ones that are unavailable from BBS due to licensing agreement.

Talked to local suppliers, but even they are having problems with getting the correct info from BBS themselves. In addition it's for a late 348 with the revised track.

    thanks

The BBS CH wheels are not available for the Ferrari cars in 18" or 19"
The BBS CH wheels that are listed do not have the Ferrari bolt pattern.
Also the BBS CH front wheels may have brake caliper clearance problems.
Notice your front brake caliper stick out about 35mm from your mounting pad
Only the modular BBS wheels are available from BBS.

The 360 BBS Challenge wheels will clear your front brake caliper. I am not sure will the rear wheel be flush with your fender. SL Competition has these wheels in stock. www.GaRedcars.com

Besides bolt pattern, you also have offset problems and i tried to get BBS to custom make me some like those for the 308... it was a no go (and i did not care about price, i simply wanted them). After MUCH research i decided the best bet was Kinesis rims http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/ . Specifically, their K27 as i wanted rims for the street and also good track use. SO lightweight AND durability are key as i live in New England. Kinesis makes proper, custom rims for MANY Ferrari cars http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/ferrari.htm

    Thanks for the info guys.

The only Kinessis wheel I like is the one piece forged, but thats for BMW & Porsche only.

OZ racing allys don't do the sizes. Not keen on the BBS LM which are "Ferrari friendly".

Another option are Imola wheels as below, but they are UK £3,000 without tyres.

Looks like I might have to get hold of some 355 wheels.

    Sy,

I put 355 wheels on my 348tb and love the way they look.

    Brent, that looks really nice.

Going to go for 355 wheels.

Just have to check if it fits ok on 94 GTB, as it may or may not have a wider track.

Your probabley OK. I had to use spacers on the rear to get the wheels to fill out the wheel well (15mm). If you have a wider track to begin with you will most likely get away without using the spacers.

    Hi Sy

Try Azev. They have wheels for 348's. I still had a set sitting in my garage. :)

A7see, had a look at the Azev, but nothing there that really appeals to me.

Jerry, what model name are those alloys?

Personally I'd prefer BBS and as the CH are unavailable, am looking at the RX, RS-GT, RX II, RK II.

Alternatively I may just put 355 alloys on.

I'm also thinking of putting some bigger and lighter wheels to my 348, has anyone experience should I go to 18" or could I fit 19 inchers? 355 and 360 wheels looks nice and I understood that they fit without problems. I looked i.e OZ Superleggera wheels that looks nice and should be quite light but seems to be that they don't do those for right bolt pattern. Any other aftermarket wheels or suggestions of good shops where to look those in London? Thx!

I'm not sure what offset you are looking at,
but have you looked at Volvo wheels at tirerack.com for example?

Thx, I will check that. What I'm lookin for is nice fitment = I don't have any idea what offset I should be looking for... Maybe the best way is to look for 355 or 360 wheels.

I think you will find the above posts were to decide what wheels he wanted on the car before he bought it. When he decided, he imformed the Ferrari dealer who he was buying it from to remove the 348 wheels and put on the 355 wheels instead. He did his home work first.
Only then did he collect it for the first time. Which was yesterday. Does that clear it up:)

here are some 360 challenge wheels on a 348, great look IMHO (the spokes of the wheels copliment the side strakes perfectly)

    http://img281.imageshack.us/img281/2668/348withwheels9ez.jpg

here is a 348 with standard 360 wheels, also looks great (better than on the 360 I think!)

I'm not such a big fan of the 355 wheels on the 348, while the suit the car well it ends up looking a little too much like the 355. Using the 360 wheels gives the car an updated look while not encroaching on any other car's territory.

    Very much so, thanks!

The 355 wheels were a good move - They fit the car very well.

Jerry, Chaa's comments above are correct.

I picked up the 348 yesterday and posted the link and the new pics last night when I got home.

I asked a couple of wheel/tyre companies about getting BBS alloys but none of them got back to me. I later realised it was because they could'nt get hold of them. I then set about looking for other wheels, but it was such a hassle. I nearly got OZ alloys, until I saw a Renault Clio with them.

The guy I purchased the car from had another 348 with 355 alloys and I asked if I could buy them.

Best decision I made. OEM look best in my opinion.

Only thing is, the wheels are still set in so I may get small spacers for the rear.

.............and the steering is still bloody heavy ...even with lighter wheels.

    :D

Sherpa23 has a set of those for sale. Very nice looking. Had he bought my 308 I would have been getting the set as part of the sale. 348 I am planning to buy already comes with a track set of rims.

Fine choice! The 355's are perfect looking. I have spacers on my TR rims - Makes it look just right (But in my case, I had to use spacers just so they would fit). :)
