    Thanks for the reminder. When I took "shop" a couple of eons ago, the shop teacher was very insistent about disposing of linseed oil rags in a special container. When the guys (as we were prone to be) didn't take it seriously, he did a little demo like that with some damp rags in a paint can. Didn't take long before smoke was rising and shortly after that, POOF, fire. It made the point. If you don't have an approved, fireproof metal container to put them in, hang them up or lay them out to dry before tossing them.
