    Does anyone have any tips for removing the 2 bearings for the center gear on the transfer case? There is not enough room to get a puller behind them.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    If you are not going to reuse the bearing, heat up the aluminum casing around the bearing with a propane torch, and tap the bearing out with a punch from the opposite side your pictures show. I have not done this, but that is what I would do, absent any betteer specific advice from others who have actually removed these bearings.

    Are they clearly worn, or are you doing a pro active replacement?

    There is no opposite side, at least that is accessible. Blind holes.

    Heating the case will have those slide right out. Apply heat to the case not the bearing.

    While a puller can work, honestly just heat the part up and the bearing will fall out. They're not press fit. Also helps when dropping in the new one.

    Ah yes, of course the hole wouldn't go through the casing!

    As others note, with heat on the casing they likely will drop out.
