Just curious, is anyone going to be watching the game? I know Frank looks like a lineman, Vince is some star in a local league, but does anyone who contributes in the local Chicagoland Fchat section follow the Bears? Tifosi hates football, Euro or American anyway. I bet Bill365 spends more time zipping motorbikes around the tailgaters on LSD Matrix style and like a red flash than actually understanding why the Winnebegos are there. Chances are more people in Chicago know who was Payton's backup compared to what model of Ferrari Magnum PI drove and/or think that Alain Prost is some sort of yuppie restaurant on Ohio near the Rock n Roll McyD's.

I don't follow it as much as I would like. But to be honest, given all the QB shuffles and me not being set the Grossman (despite a morale boost and better range) is much of that over the hill factor for a win. Carolina won't get shut down as much as they did in the regular season. I can't pick a winner, but hope its out Bears who happen to be one of the most recognized sports franchises in the nation.

I think Carla seems to be the biggest Bears fan in the group. I know she needed to get home to watch them on at least one cruise.

I do follow the Bears. Football is the one sport, besides F1, that I normally have time to follow, but this season, my work has been an encroachment on even that. How did you like that use of the f-ball term.

There is a chance that they could go for it all, morale is high, defense is tough (although not quite like '85), but offense, IMO, is still a bit of a concern.

A number of the top football pundits have said that they like the Bears chances, but as I am sure everybody knows, on any Sunday.

I'm all over football this week...
The "beloved" should not have a problem with the Panthers this week for several reasons. I don't want to get into what all of those reasons are so I will save that for my sports radio phonecall. I know Rich T.is licking his chops this week while he waits for the Colts to take down another victim. I am pulling for the Colts to come out of the AFC. I'm sick of the Pats...
Regardless what happens this week it is going to be fun to watch teams lay it on the line. Playoffs always makes for great T.V.
As far international football goes I am waiting for the World Cup to get going.
I usually go to a couple Italian clubs to watch Italy play and it gets crazy. It sucks that the U.S. and Italy are in the same group this tiime around. Oh well..
World Cup and Euro Cup are a blast! Gotta love it..

    Thanks.

We'll have to get together next summer. World Cup is the only other sport apart from F1 that gets my blood boiling. There are so many nations to root for or against. USA, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, France, England and Ghana.

    LOL

I guess in the end it is all about what you grew up with. I have watched Curling players as a child and therefore I feel a lot closer to it than most people here. I remember how people in the US were stunned when they saw the players with the brooms.

Curling is basically Boggia/Boule on ice.

PS: Speaking of strange sports: Have you ever seen the Swiss version of Baseball? It is called Hornusse. Very weird sport; even for me. :)

I miss Robot Wars. My favorite was the firetruck that had all its dalmations torn up. Wedges are so boring... Was that a sport? I think they had a Baywatch chick do commentary so it could qualify for a water sport in some sense.

    Is paintball or airsoft?

Go BlackHawks! They just ended their 10 game losing streak and have started another! Woo hoo!

It would be nice to see the Colts make it as I could do without one more Tom Brady, World's Sexiest Athlete bit. Much rather hear how Manning's work ethic and training schedule motivated little bro to work harder. If Tony D thought he could do more with Tampa if he was there now... you know, things about the sport. I could watch Nascar for Hollywood garbage.

PS: Typical biased Vince picking Italy. Cool, Im cheering for Cameroon then. Go Sammy! And... umm, go Sammy!

Im with you on the world cup.....I think I like it, cause one of the few sports I could never play....To much running! I enjoy womens soccer too! :D

I don't think the Bears will win this weekend, they are to high on themselves. Once the 2nd half rolls around, I think the spike will be nailed.... :) Im in for it now

I guess we won't see any of the Bears at LFSC or Continental using up their Super Bowl bonus. How does the saying go for the Cubs, " Wait till next year." ???
