Hello, relocating to Beaumont Tx area this summer with work.

Can anyone recommend good places to live? Is living between Houston and Beaumont possible or would the drive in both directions be too much?

Can one live close to the beach? What about waterfront (lake/river) living? Anything near by worth checking out?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide! Seems like real estate is pretty cheap.

Can't help you with Beaumont real estate values but beachfront property in Beaumont will not be pretty.......You will need to travel a little to get to a desirable area. Anything close to Beaumont and the Houston Ship Channel is very industrial. It is no wonder the values seem low to you. It is not like San Diego or Miami Beach........ More like Newark, N.J.........

    Welcome to Beaumont..........

you forgot to mention that they do have a hooters , but I think they are the substitute squad (not A or B squad) at the local nudy bar!! Anything east of houston sucks!!! I worked every area from china to orange and its all the same around there.
