So I read the manual cover to cover last night (horrible might as well bee written in Chinese!), and just spent 45 minutes playing with the head unit and I still cant figure this thing out!

All Im trying to do is program a few of my favorite stations and be able to scan FM frequencies like every other car I have ever operated.

Its insane Im 30 years old, fairly tech savvy and capable of programming an outdated totally unintuitive flight management system designed in the 80's when I go fly but this silly 2007 radio is getting the best of me!!! Heck even the horrible HF radios in the plane are more user friendly than the Becker.

Anyone have some simple instruction on how to get the radio to scan and just show the frequencies without naming them. Right now it looks like I can only choose from 20 stations and I cant even tell the frequencies cause the radio names them off the PTY or whatever its called...?

As much as Im a purist and hate aftermarket systems this is the first time I've ever considered swapping one out! I'd really prefer not to though... there has to be a way to just program 5 or 6 stations and just have the frequencies shown... right?

I know the real stereo is sitting right behind me but sometimes its nice to be able to get a traffic update, check a sports score, or whatever and at this point the radio is unusable to me!

Anyways I know this isnt the first thread on the subject. Just wondering if someone had simple button by button press instructions to set it up! (the manual is useless)

Here are the instructions that work for me...

Press 3rd far right button to get to FM STT (not sure this step is absolutely necessary)

Press the middle button and look at the row of selections you now have on the display
    Press "manual"
    Dial desired frequency, then wait...
Wait until the display returns to show the 1-9 present numbers, then
Press and hold the desired preset until it beeps.

    Good luck, you'll need it

Bob, thank you, I will try this tonight. Becker should hire some folks from Apple and learn how to make a user friendly interface! How this company has been in existence for decades producing this crap is unbelievable.

why couldn't ferrari hire a real English speaker to write all the manuals up is a mystery to me. Technical manuals are difficult to read as well as some can be interpreted in various ways.

My Becker 6112 manual is written in several languages...the English section is 125 pages. I read it and still couldn't figure out how to program the radio or use the search function! I will be trying Bob's instructions soon ;)

Do you try to listen to the radio in the car?
    1. Becker is awsome(?) and user friendly that I want to touch it all the time.
    2. Antenna is so bad you can't get clear sound anyway.
    3. Use the old school way (CD-Changer) so that the sound quality is far better
    4. Listen to the engine (This is what I do the most)
    5. I have an aux cable so that i could plug in my phone/iPod

My first time ever test drove a Ferrari was back in the 90's with 348 spider and the dealer told me I do not need a radio after complaining the quality of the sound. I still get his comment... Haha.. I see lots of people put an aftermarket 1 DIN radio with pop up display unit for Navi and etc...

Did you try to put destinations in Navi with Becker? Good Luck... We all LOVE OUR CARS though....

Well I tried Bob's instructions tonight...but found the 6112 controls don't seem to match with his instructions...so I instead read the Becker user manual again (radio section only), and got even more frustrated! Fortunately I recently removed the 30 pin Ipod cable and installed a new lightning cable so I can stream music off my Iphone 6. AND I can use Waze for navigation, and never have to attempt to read the navigation section of the Becker manual... ;)

    Here is the lightning cable:
iL-BKR Apple Lightning Adapter for select Becker Radios :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces

    Or USB cable:
USB-BKR USB Charging and Playback Adapter for select Becker Radios :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces

I posted this on another thread and would be super grateful for any help here... no matter what I do, I can't seem to eject the system CD. The unit seems to acknowledge that it's there, but just won't let me eject it. I've tried hitting the eject button in different modes... unplugged the power, reset system through menu, etc. Am I missing something really obvious here?
