Hello, does anyone know how to play music from the iPod? The iPod will find the stereo and vice versa, so they are connected to each other but there is no sound from the iPod? Should I press a special button? Yes, I have read the manual several times but can not find anything that explains... The stereo units 6112. //Erra
I have a feeling previous threads have suggested the Becker's Bluetooth version is too old to permit this so you need a cable - try looking at some of the previous threads by searching on 6112
I have same question. My 08 spider Bluetooth does really well for navigation off of google maps but not sure about iPod. I thing you need a cable. Anyone have a solution??
I believe the advice above is correct. Get a Becker Remote kit (cable) and you can operate the I pod from the head unit (genres, playlists etc etc). Cheaper cables will just identify the IPod as an Aux and you will be be fiddling with the screen on the road - less than ideal BECKER Remote Kit V4 NEW, Fits Indianapolis +Pro, Cascade +Pro, Grand Prix | eBay
Andrew is right. I bought a Becker Gran prix thinking it was Blutooth, and it is, but only for the phone. If you want to listen to your ipod you'll need that cable. Kind of makes a mockery of the word Blutooth in the brochure. Then you need to find somewhere to mount the ipod. I made a little bracket under the dash and in front of the console.
The blue tooth on mine is real bad, you can't play music and it will only sync with the iphone 6 if you put the phone on top of the dash. When you try and use it to make a call the other person can't hear you. Just buy a cable and hook it up in the back and you can play music. I ran the cable under the carpet and put the phone in the center console.
To play music on the 6112 you'll probably need the iPod connection cable. You can get it on ebay. Unfortunately it seems to only work completely with iPods of similar vintage. I use an iPod nano, the one that looks like a watch with a built in clip at the end to store my songs. You can access it in the radio interface. You might be able to find a bluetooth audio input and use that with a jack to get it to play via bluetooth...
It goes in the cd changer socket - lots of threads here with installation instructions & discussion - try a search on ipod
Ipod remote kit: aftermarket radios Or, you plug this into the back of the radio:3 5mm Aux Audio Input Cable for VW Passat B5 Bora Polo Becker Blaupunkt New | eBay and plug into that a bluetooth speaker adaptor
It can only fit into one hole. It simply won't fit into another one because of the way it fits. I paid $AU350 for my cable. Tucked again!
I have solved the problem, bought a pioneer who works with everything! Thank you for all help. //Erra
Actually I like my iPod connector which is in the glove box. I have a 64 gig iPod connected and paid a few bucks for an iPod female connector to headphone jack connector so I can use any MP3 player. With the iPod you also have power and radio screen. With MP3 no. All that said, easy enough to get an updated receiver for a few hundred bucks. Keep the original for when selling the car.
Erra, I went through your same challenges my solution after exhausting all good option was to install a Bovee wireless adaptor to your iPod cable....it operates every single time streaming all music from my iPhone including navigation... You can read more about it if you search iPod inconsistency with Becker 6112.... Good Luck.! K//
Most folks are no longer using Ipods, but are using Iphones. The easy solution is a new cord, which then gives you full audio play through the Aux input on the Becker 6112, as well as charging your iphone as well. http://www.discountcarstereo.com/iL-BKR.html (now your cig lighter jack is freed up) Another option is a USB adapter, this might be considered more "universal" since you could plug any phone charging cord into it to both charge and stream music. http://www.discountcarstereo.com/usb-bkr.html
Also note when using these adapters, the seller recommends you also purchase this to retain your bluetooth hands free system operation: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/iso8-har.html I think this explains why when I answer a call, I can hear the caller, but they can't hear me, unless I go to speakerphone or handset! Time to order that adapter...
Going to bump an old post of yours... Did this end up working out for you? I also have the BT hands free phone connection on my 6112, and want to add the bluetooth adapter from here. It seems I need that extra adapter as well. I tried the Bovee 1000 plugged into the iPod cord in the glovebox, but it would only play out of the right side of the car for some reason.
Yes. I returned my Lightning cable adapter to the seller and for a few dollars they updated it and returned it. Been working fine with the phone BT the past several years. I recently purchased their bluetooth kit and also added the extra adapter to the order and they wired it in to the bluetooth adapter. I have not yet installed it, its still sitting on my desk here...bought it a couple months ago. https://www.discountcarstereo.com/a2d-bkr.html You must order this at the same time, and they will wire it into the cable adapter of the bluetooth kit https://www.discountcarstereo.com/iso8-har.html This will allow you to continue to use the hands free BT phone as well.
If you need the https://www.discountcarstereo.com/a2d-bkr.html I have one that I can sell you cheap...brand new, got two originally and was going to return one and then forgot about it. Works great in my 360 (see my other threads on this topic)
Does it have the handfree phone option to maintain phone calls? It has to ordered separately at time of purchase so they can wire it in. If not, you can send it back and pay a small fee to have them add it one of their existing bluetooth kits for the 6112
Yeah basically what f355 said, I need that integrated combo one. Though I'm starting to realize this sound system is pretty poor honestly, even with the Bose/HiFi option I have. I almost want to say something is blown but reading through threads it just isn't that great. Kind of pondering even going this route, but then again radio stations are so useless I kind of have to.
