    Hi All,

The OEM BE 4372 radio in my 2002 575 needs to be sent back to Becker for repair.

Fortunately, I have the radio removal tools. However, I've never removed the unit before. Does anyone have any tips or cautions I should be aware of when removing and disconnecting the unit from the dash?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    John

It should just be a matter of inserting the tool into the appropriate hole to release it... then it should just pop out.

... whoa, I just realized those same instructions could mean something entirely different had I posted it in BRL. Mods: I didn’t mean it that way here, I swear... that’s just the way you remove the stereo! ;)

Take care inserting the tools, they can damage the release mechanism if they’re forced.
The tools should be marked as to which way they face.
I use a towel on the tunnel below the head unit of my 456, you’ll need something to set it on while you disconnect the wiring.
Else, it’s a fairly straightforward operation.

That was lucky. On a 550 you have to remove the center console (easy) because the radio is bolted in.

I represent guys who get them out real quickly. Haha I am a defense lawyer

That being said, I sent mine back to Becker and they sent me a brand new refinished one, new code card and brand new finished knobs and stuff. Only $159

Brand new looking. Got over the sticky stuff

My volume was messing with me. They just sent me a new one. 10 years later

Just call Becker and be nice

Brand new radio, same ferrari label and even same preset stations
