I can't get this radio to do anything, and I don't have the Navigation CD. I've reviewed the threads and searched and read some manuals but nothing... at one point It said reading disc when I gave it a Data CD but then clicked over to Remove Navigation message. MY 06 Stock Becker Radio...

Simply pushing the on does nothing, matter of fact other than opening the door and inserting a disc, it doens't do antything on any buttons other than ejecting or sucking in a disc.... anyone have any ideas?

Also, I assume this is a 6105 radio? what other Becker units plug and play into this? the car was equipped wtih the "infotainment" options, and Remote Truck CD Changer.

Do you have the Becker code card ? If so you could try powering down the radio or at worst the car

I'm starting to think this radio is kaput.... Here is what is does and doesn't do.... I pulled it out, and it is a 6105 for sure... The only thing it will do is say insert the navigation CD but the screen isn't really lit up... you can read it but it isn't green or amber. when you hit the power button, it does nothing. I grabbed my MM and tested and it has 12V on the b+, ground is good, 12V accessory feed is good and illumination 12V goes positive when the lights go on. The screen never illuminates...

So with car ignition on, I pull the lower Power plug and it of coarse powers down. I plug it back in and it says (with a CD in drive) scanning CD.. then after a short period goes to "Remove navigation CD" and thats about it.... at one point by plugging and unplugging I got a screen to come up that said Becker on it, but it never did anything even when pushing numerous buttons....

So help me out..... If you remove your Nav CD can you still use the radion? because if that is true, this is kaput.... and its odd, it never lights up.... I see some on Feebay, that say Ferrari in the display lit up...

So Let's assume its bad, and i'm not willing to go to aftermarket (its a purist thing) what other radios will plug and play with the 6105 that might have more features, or am I just better off to replace the 6105 and install the Bluetooth module like I had planned?

What year is your car? Ask the Fdealer if the Boise system for the 2008/10 cars will plug and play with your car. If so you will have a upgraded Fcar system sound system but I think this could be expensive (relative to the aftermarket systems) and it is not so user friendly but once mastered the system is fine (not great) and it has the IPod jack and Bluetooth for your phone (I don't think you can stream music on the Bluetooth on the Boise system) that comes with the system which works well with an IPod so no need to stream Bluetooth music.

If you give up on the purists point of view the aftermarket systems are likely a much more cost effective alternative and are pretty good sound systems available and they have Bluetooth for your phone and I believe that some of them will allow you to stream music.
